Live in a house in an estate, really lovely house. I moved via social housing due to abuse and harassment, noise and anti social behaviour from a mad neighbor who had drug issues.

Well now in my new house, only a month and the selfish neighbours who are around their 40s, act like youths- playing extremely loud music few times a week, usually stating from 10 pm upwards, they also shout, screaming in the garden or the front the adults and teens, plus they have a 8 year old. They had an argument in the street the other day with another neighbour.

Am i being unreasonable, the anticipation that they are going to play music really unsettles me affecting my work and study.I have a toddler as well, where i can hear the music in her room, even in the bath feel the vibration.

Tried to get away from this anti social life now stuck right in it, thinking of asking council to write a letter, any good? will they stop or do i have to in the future threatning the council with action.

I would definitely try to nip it in the bud - the longer you put up with it, the more acceptable your neighbours will think it is. Usually the council/environmental people are pretty strict about noise especially after 11pm - I think I would ring the council first of all and ask them directly what to do. Get the name/ext of the person you speak to so that you can contact them again - otherwise you might get lost in the system, I always think it's better to get a definite "someone" on your side IYSWIM! Also, make a diary of every disturbance to help you remember and as evidence. Good luck - I was woken up this morning at 3.30am by my noisy neighbour stumbling in and banging about so I sympathise!!
