background.
have a 'friend' on facebook who is just a previous work collegue. was never friends with him in real life. did't like him much then, mostly because he was crap at his job and made my lifevery difficult there. I no longer worke there.
Now via him posting on facebook it transpires that he is actually going through disciplinary procedures. He obviously feels somewhat bitter about it all and is posting what I think are unreasonable comments about what is going on. I still have friends at this place who are also involved with the procedures.
besides being a little that he has announced to the world via facebook that he is being disciplined would it be very unreaonable to reply and point out that the reason he is in this mess is because he is shit at his job and a complete nob to boot?

I would just ignore it. Why is he your friend on FB if you don't like him?

whoingodsnameami · 17/04/2009 16:06

He could get sacked from the company if he is slandering them on facebook.

Why not just delete him as a friend?

DisasterEggs · 17/04/2009 16:07

haven't worked out how to delete people.

Delete and ignore. Don't get involved. If asked plead ignorance.
I don't get why people have people on their friends list who aren't real friends anyway! One friend from work that I know has over 500 people on her list and freely admits she only knows some of them slightly. Yet they all know all the details of her private life as it's plastered all over her profile in gory detail every day. Madness.

Simplysally · 17/04/2009 16:09

Go into your friends list and click the x on the right hand side of their box.

It will ask you if you want to delete them and/or block them.

Job done.

DisasterEggs · 17/04/2009 16:11

so it would be a bit wrong to gloat?

Best not to get involved publicly but you can have a private snigger .

personally I would delete him and not get involved, you could make it worse specially if he decides to go down the 'bullying' route.

MorrisZapp · 17/04/2009 16:16

Don't gloat on facebook. By all means slag the guy off over a beer but bitching on a public website is a bit off.

Btw, when you delete a friend they don't get an email or anything like that. He probably won't even notice.

mrsblanc · 17/04/2009 16:18

dont get involved

tinseltot · 17/04/2009 20:10

Its got definate potential to become a car crash if you let yourself get dragged in. Resist the urge!

ahfeckit · 17/04/2009 20:19

this is why Facebook is so superficial...honestly, if he isn't a friend why are you 'friends' with him on a social networking site, why would you care what happens to him??
YABU.

Gentle · 17/04/2009 20:25

Yeah, just remove him.

He won't be able to see that you've removed him either, unless he specifically goes looking for you (or you are one of his only 2 "friends"). There isn't a screen that flashes up on his profile saying "DisasterEggs has removed you" or anything.

lou222 · 17/04/2009 21:55

i'd be too nosey to delete him !
