AIBU to want my DH to investigate how he can stop thinning on top?

He had fantastic hair when we met but has started disappearing at front & now on top! Obviously not so shallow that i love him any less, but irritated that he just thinks it inevitable..........

Yes, I think you're being unreasonable. Not that I know much about it, but almost every "cure" I've seen advertised for male pattern baldness looks quite crap.

He's getting older, and losing his hair. To be honest, I think that it is inevitable. He might also be going grey. Are you going to ask him to dye his hair?

YABU - for some people, my dp included, it IS inevitable - anything else is at best expensive and at worst desperate.

Although dp (who shaves his head to billiard ball shine nowadays) still insists that brazil nuts will give him long golden hair again!

Er - it is inevitable. Look at his family, genetics has a strong part to play in this. The only thing he could do is to spend a fortune each month on Regaine lotions to try and stem the tide of hairloss.

And really, he will be feeling shit about this anyway, so best not to mention it to him.

if you don't believe me look at Elton John - all the money in the world to buy plugs and Rogaine, still balder than a coot. He had his pubes transplanted to his head and it doesn't look good.

Get used to it, learn to love and accept it.

There is NOTHING to be done.

If you want to be really shallow dump him for a guy who is not thinning.

It is inevitable.

Think that male pattern baldness passes through the maternal line. So an indication would be what his maternal grandfather's hair was like (I think).

Am hoping this is the case for ds! DH gave up and shaved all his remaining hair off when he was about 21. Started balding before then though. My father is 68 and has a full and un-receding head of hair.

I say I'm hoping, but I really couldn't give a toss about dh being bald. That's him. It's fine. But think you have to be reasonably resillient to deal with hair loss at such a young age and don't we all want our children to have fewer things to deal with?

YABU - mine has sooooo much less hair now than when I met him. He's still the same arsehole man that I fell in love with and I'm fairly certain that I'm no longer the size 12 that I was when we first met! And he hardly ever never mentions it.

I know you say you still love him the same, but how is it going to make him feel if you go on about it. My DP doesn't like it disappearing so I always let him know I don't care, because I don't.

And yes, it is inevitable, whatever the adverts tell us.

Now i did say i wasn't shallow......just wondering what others thought...... Met someone who had plugs once & it looked like a doll! Just remembered chris evans talking about it a while ago

It's not like he's losing his hair on purpose . Mind you I do come from a family of yetis with full heads of hair. My Dad is 77 and still has a full head (albeit thinner and whiter) of hair and my maternal Grandad apparently used to beat his hair down with 2 brushes to make it lie flat .

Btw my dh is going bald as well, he just shaves now. And yes it is passed down the female line!
