AIBU to have nicknamed myself on MN after my cats...

Would using a nickname based in some way on my DS have been more appropriate? Sadly, when choosing my nickname, my cats came to mind first! (I don't cope well with that kind of pressure, me)

How did other people choose their nicknames?

LadyOfWaffle · 16/04/2009 18:46

Because I drone on alot on here

TrillianAstra · 16/04/2009 18:48

Not because you're waffley versatile?

IotasCat · 16/04/2009 18:50

Totally unreasonable to name yourself after a cat

Altagloria · 16/04/2009 19:02

Well I signed up under pressure of wanting to know if I should do a pregnancy test and didn't realize it was supposed to be a funny name. So just used my ebay name which was based on the wine bottle next to me when I signed up to eBay.

Now I don't like it but thought it would BU to change it!

JackBauer · 16/04/2009 19:02

I used to be named after one of my lovebirds (chirpy girl).
I am not anymore

Mine was because I wanted an early thread I started to be obviously non-serious. I was so delighted that anyone actually replied that I kept it

Pixel · 16/04/2009 23:16

I'm named after my ex-cat who was named after a character in a book. A character who was a cat, obviously.

LastOrders · 16/04/2009 23:17

My 1st MN name was after my cat.

differentID · 16/04/2009 23:20

I started off with a different name, so I thought a name change is a differentID, hence here I am.

Baisey · 17/04/2009 09:40

Baisey is my dogs nickname (Am I weird to give my dog a nickname?) She is named after a not very well known Harry Potter character. Blaise Zabini. Yes, Im sad. But in my defense I was still only a teenager when we named the dog!!!

After my fave fictional female character. She's hot, ruthless, strong, moral, clever..... and married to a very gorgeous, very rich man (and has tons and tons of inventive sex)

......basically everything I'm not and would wish to be

lol threadworm!

Mine's a hobby

BecauseImWorthIt · 17/04/2009 10:48

Mine is to remind me that I am worth it!

Started off here with a 'mum' name, before I quickly realised how unMN that was. But I'd read enough threads by then to realise that so many women on here are easily taken advantage of by other people in their lives (partners, children, family, etc). And so my name started off as a reminder to myself not to ever allow that to happen.

I actually think it's a bit worthy/pompous now, but have found that I have become quite attached to it and can't change it!

I like it when it's abbreviated to BIWI.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 17/04/2009 11:05

Well, I have namechanged several times but might stick with this one.

I picked it because I love the particular motor, despite its ungreen reputation and also like the 'warrioress' bit cos I am in a bit of a life pickle but trying not to go down without a bloody good fight.

SugarBird · 17/04/2009 11:19

Mine was going to be sugarcane as in caning sugar (I was low-carbing at the time and it made perfect sense - to me anyway ) but it was taken so I went down the dictionary looking for sugar+anything that wasn't taken - and SugarBird it was! The opposite of what I intended in fact.

I'm not sure why I didn't just choose something completely different but was having an unimaginative moment! Changed it once as an experiment but it didn't feel right so here I am with a nickname that makes no sense to me whatsoever...

My pets have had some very weird interesting names and if I used those then any rl friends on here would be likely to spot me
