Love spending time with my dd's, and ds loves having his sisters around so leaves my side more often...

YANBU - mind you, I'm a teacher.

[Disclaimer - I love teaching but I have so enjoyed being able to spend all day every day for two weeks with my dd]

ChippingIn · 15/04/2009 23:19

me as well... counting down till the summer break now

gigglewitch · 15/04/2009 23:22

oi, Chipping, we've got Whit first so hopefully we only have to count to 6 or 7 [weeks] not aaaages

Sorrento · 15/04/2009 23:23

I agree the monotony of the school run does my head in.

skramble · 15/04/2009 23:25

Not foreer but a bit longer, first week they had workshops, had a great weekend but now they are at their dads, wish I had had more sunny days to waste away the hours with them, once they get home it will be all school bags and new school shoes.

SlartyBartFast · 15/04/2009 23:26

me too, sigh
however rain is forecast for hte next 2 days
but it is great isnt it?
lazing around,
have the dc's company. etc,

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/04/2009 23:34

I wish they could go on for ever too. dd is so much happier and more relaxed and I'm less grumpy. But I don't get much done.

flossiemay · 16/04/2009 00:35

twinsetandpearls · 16/04/2009 00:48

I have loved being at home but am looking forward to going back to work.

ChippingIn · 16/04/2009 00:48

gigglewitch - sorry, yes I know, but it's only a week so it barely counts... [pout emoticon]

Phoenix4725 · 16/04/2009 08:30

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

am looking forward to getting bit of peace

mychildrenarebarmy · 16/04/2009 08:57

YABU. If they went on forever it would mean that us home educators wouldn't get the pleasure of having trips to places that aren't crowded.

cory · 16/04/2009 09:01

Last week- on Dartmoor, with two healthy and happy children, sunshine, ponies, fun- I'd have said YES, I'm with you 100%. Families need to be together!

This week- dd incapacitated so I can't leave the house, ds climbing the walls- no, you are totally wrong. Children need an education! Or, to be exact, I need ds out from under my feet.

KimiAteTooManyEasterEggs · 16/04/2009 09:04

I love the school hols, we are having a lovely time, been swimming twice, been to see 2 films, went to visit my mum, had friends round for games day, DS2 went to his friends for the day, we had a wonderful Easter, went roller blading and played mini golf, did painting and just had a lovely time. Boys are going to see monster truck show Friday.

I am longing for the summer hols to come now

Me too - I like it so much I am thinking of making it a permanent arrangement and home educating..Mind you I must admit it's not all about spending time with the DD's, I think it's also the freedome from the tyranny of the school lunchbox, ironing, having to be out the door at a certain time, etc etc.
