to want to throw the dog sh*t at this woman's back?

I took all dc's down to the beach today, it was quite busy, lots of families and kids wondering around enjoying Easter Sunday.
There was a group of adults standing near by and i noticed their dog ( a large alsatian) was having a crap on the beach.
An elderly member of the group called out to a younger woman, possibly his daughter, and gestured to what the dog was doing.
I fully expected her to go over and pick the crap up and put it in the dog crap bin which was about 2 foot away from her, as did all the other people I'm sure who were standing around.
Instead she shrugged and smiled and turned away and shortly afterwards the group ambled off, followed by the dog. Leaving a huge pile of dog turd where kids were playing

My kids were playing right where the dog crapped and I was so stunned that I couldn't think for a second. I was so on the point of running after her and giving her a mouthful.

What the f*uck is wrong with people.

I wanted to chuck the whole lot at her and say "here this belongs to you"

Infact now I reall that the older man didn't just gesture to the woman, he called her name loud enough for all around to hear and look at what he was pointing to!!!!!

You know...I love dogs and have a dog but would never dream of not clearing up after him. That is disgusting and I would be too.

tessofthedurbervilles · 12/04/2009 17:32

I still find it amazing how many threads there are about people not picking up their dog's crap ... I thought picking up after your dog was just a necessary evil of owning a dog.
I would have picked it up in a bag and gone after her and said 'ooopsy you forgot this you dirty lazy b*tch'
But thats why I haven't got many friends!

oooh my blood is boiling.

Shameful behaviour!

kittywise · 12/04/2009 17:36

I'm cross with myself for not going up to her and if I'd had a spare bag I would have done that TESS

"Its almost beyond belief poeple would do that"

Er no it isn't it is extremely common sadly!

chegirl · 12/04/2009 17:37

Squishing it her hair would be better.

Are dogs still allowed on beaches at this time of year?

YANBU

I cant help thinking this thread is going to get all mean about all dog owners though.

moondog · 12/04/2009 17:40

I would have picked it up and smeared it all over her car.
I'm like that.

Numberfour · 12/04/2009 17:41

vile, disgusting, filthy woman.

chegirl, not all dog owners are like that. just the odd lazy few.

kittywise · 12/04/2009 17:45

I'm really surprised to see that happening at that part of the beach actually. Dogs are allowed on until 1st may.

We know that number4 but there have been some really horrible heated dog posts lately.

llareggub · 12/04/2009 17:54

I don't understand these dog owners. We were at the park today, which is just a very small play area, with swings, and is really just somewhere for children to play. It is not a big park with room for everyone.

Two women came over with their dogs, watching the children playing while their dogs urinated on the grass. Fine, I guess. They then let the dogs off the leads, threw balls for the dogs to chase towards the playing children. My DS is 2 years old and terrified of dogs after another woman let her dog chase him and his ball last week, in the other, bigger park. I felt we had no choice but to leave the park. Over the road there is a massive common where dog owners can exercise their dogs to their hearts content, without taking over play areas aimed at children.

YANBU.

sweetkitty · 12/04/2009 17:59

Oh don't get me started, in our large park there is a fenced off playground and people don't bring dogs in BUT there are loads of walkways and paths leading all around the park and large areas of grass but you cannot allow your DCs on them as theya re covered in dog shit.

Utterly disgusting

Neightbours shit on our garden, DP picked it up and lobbed it back into theirs.

TrinityIsGettingABabyRhino · 12/04/2009 18:02

we have just adopted our puppy and I have now found out how much dog shit stinks when fresh and close up (ALOT)....
because I am picking up his poo every time he does it

never would have thought not too

fucking ignorant bastard people

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 12/04/2009 18:06

The neighbours shit on your garden, sweetykitty?

kittywise · 12/04/2009 18:08

Have already told this story on another thread but will repeat it as it is so funny...............
Several years ago my late dh was gardening in the front garden and looked up in time to see a man let his dog poo on the grass outside our gate and was about to walk away...........
The man didnt see my dh on the other side of the hedge and went to walk away....my dh said in a loud voice "I HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO PICK THAT UP!!!" The man went completely scarlet and whipped in my dh's words a freshly laundered white handkerchief out of his pocket and picked the poo up and left very quickly!! My dh felt wonderful after that!!

onFriday · 12/04/2009 18:27

A dog once pooed right outside our house, the man put it in a little bag and then left the bag and went on his way. I nearly called after him but didn't and just put it in the bin myself. about half an hour later he returned from his walk and I saw him searching everywhere for the bag. I'm so glad I didn't shout after him. He must be wondering if he is going mad and he imagined he'd left the poo or even stranger - who wanted to steal his dog poo?

sweetkitty · 12/04/2009 19:06

pmsl we have very strange neighbours round here

I have cats and have to scoop poo out the litter tray regularly and that's bad enough, I often wonder how much poo those huge dogs like Great Danes must do

ChippingIn · 13/04/2009 01:01

Don't worry about the great danes, it's the St Bernards you need to watch out for .

Picking up your own dogs poo is revolting, but if you don't train them to go at home, then it's what you have to do isn't it!

standanddeliver · 13/04/2009 08:10

It's dog shit city round where I live. Loads of young dog owners with macho dogs, who think it's beneath them to pick up crap.

There's one guy who walks his dog up and down outside the railings of my sons nursery every day, so that it craps just where the children walk in. Not a day goes by when you don't see a freshly walked in crap outside the building....... . But nobody challenges him because the dog is so scary ...... and because I live in an area where people get stabbed for looking at someone the wrong way....

i always clear up after our dog. he is a westie/JRTx and doesnt do huge craps, but thats not the point. tbh we dont have too much of a dog shit problem around here, was much worse when we lived on a posh road. however we havwe a huge cat crap issue. which is odd because both our neighbours have dogs too. but everytime i go into back garden i am greeted by a pile of it.

mydoorisalwaysopen · 13/04/2009 09:43

has anyone ever tackled a dog owner directly about this when seeing them walk away from a steaming pile of poo. I confess to being a little bit scared of the consequences of reminding a person of their civic responsibilities.
