Dear Mr...

Thank you for your interest in Eulah Country House.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to welcome you on the requested
period.
The Hotel structure is not safe for young children due to certain
architectural features such as the large gaps between the stair
banisters (large enough for a small child to fall through) and the
pool area is open to the garden and not fenced off. Furthermore, we
do not have any extra beds or cots to accommodate children.
We therefore feel very strongly that the property is not adequate
for

ensuring the safety of young children.
Furthermore, as we advertise a no children policy, other guests who
book at Eulah Country House have expectations of this policy being
adhered to.
I trust that you understand the reason for our policy and that this
is a matter of liability only.
However, we can recommend a 17th Century Coach House in town, the
Revere Hotel & Restaurants, which might be ideal for your stay.
You can contact Reservations on 01534 611 111 or by email:

Yours Sincerely

Claudia De Sousa

DH was a bit pissed off by it, they could have just said they didn't take children. Now it sounds like "we don't want your snotty children here messing up our lovely hotel so F off"

Or is dh being a bit sensitive?

well I have no children (here with me at the moment) and it's not telling me its child free either.

Maybe we should all bombard them with requests to stay with our DC? Then they may realise that they don't actually have a clear no children policy

HeadFairy · 11/04/2009 18:15

At the same time perhaps we can suggest they get rid of that irritating voice over on a loop on their home page.

yes that is very irritating - I'm listening to music on YouTube and suddenly this snobby woman interrupted my music talking over it

Gunnerbean · 11/04/2009 18:19

I have a child myself and I can tell you that if I had the opportunity to go somewhere without him for the weekend I would be heading stright for a place that had a strict no children policy!

HeadFairy · 11/04/2009 18:20

Well me too gunnerbean, but we're going to a wedding in Jersey and thought we'd treat ourselves to a night in a posh hotel so ds will be with us.
