To think that using the words vipers' and nest may not be the best start....

Siobahn Freegard, Netmums founder, said: "Although it's true that a minority of our members think of the Mumsnet community as a vipers' nest, we think they're a fabulous bunch and see enormous benefits in a merger. We'll hopefully end up with a site that takes the best aspects from both - one that's a little bit pinker than Mumsnet and a little bit bluer than Netmums."

Not as happy a dream as the Daily Mail one, but still a reasonable seasonal effort.

Oh, no no no, permatired. This thread stays...

permatired · 01/04/2009 11:06

Ok, I am officially a numpty! Hadn't even crossed my mind it was 1st April, but in retrospect this is hardly likely to be true. Oh well - even more respect to Mumsnet for coming up with that!

I knew Siobhan Freegard! She and I had plans before I buggered off to France, she was, prolly still us, a lovely lovely lady. Very intelligent and always on the ball.

Hi Siobhan! Remember me?

KingRoloEgg · 01/04/2009 11:09

perma - you could spin this so we are the fools for believing you were taken in by this!

EasterBunnysWizzskas · 01/04/2009 11:13

Actually, joking apart that is a great idea. We'd eat them for breakfast. Oh the sport!

permatired · 01/04/2009 11:14

Of course, a fine trolling opportunity!

Oh yay! Deep joy at a searingly successful april fool.

I am a child but I will be tittering delightedly all day, permatired, and it's all because of you! (This is a good thing, be proud! )

Alright alright (sniffs at being in midst of merciless nest of vipers!)

Oh ha ha!

As a woman who gave the Guardian thing a moment's credibility ( I was half asleep) I am not falling for this!

~~47 minutes since I last had a crap~~

Gentle · 01/04/2009 11:25

OrmIrian I missed the Guardian thing, can you tell me where to find it?

OrmIrian · 01/04/2009 11:26

It was on Today gentle. They just reported that the Guardian, after 100something years, was going to be the first paper to publish entirely via Twitter

I thought 'Oh?!' and then I thought 'Doh!'

permatired · 01/04/2009 11:30

Ah see even I might not have fallen for that! Feels bit better now (or should I still consider defecting to Netmums?)
