To feel tired?

I'm 30 weeks pregnant, have SPD an energetic 16 month old (who doesn't sleep through) and no support except for DP who works +/- 60 hours a week so can't really do anything else much. Oh and we're in the middle of a renovation too.

I'm not usually moaner, but am I really being so unreasonable to feel tired?

Absolutely not! if I knew you I'd be taking your 16mo off your hands for a couple of hours.

Toddlers are enough on their own to make you feel tired but at 30 weeks and 10 more to go..and with SPD (awful awful I know!!)

Rest up as much as you can. CAn you get friends to take 16mo out for a couple hours, or help you during day with chores so you can sleep/ put your feet up?

Ooops, hadn't realised the OP was so incoherent. Glad you could still follow it!

Unfortunately there is absolutely nobody who can take DD or help me. I am lucky enough to have a cleaner for 3 hours a week, which does make a massive difference!

It can be so hard to know what's unreasonable and what isn't when I'm PG

NN I feel just the same today I am almost 32 weeks and have dd age 3 at home all I want to do is sleep .

If I bend over I get heartburn ,stand up straight I get backache ,lay down = braxton hicks etc etc.

I really really feel for you . (and me)

NorktasticNinja · 31/03/2009 13:49

lol Comewhinewithme you're spot on about the heart burn etc. I really don't know how people can actively enjoy pregnancy!

Here's a cup of tea and a sit down for us both...

LOL Thankyou NN .
The heatburn is really bad atm I only have to look at a glass of water and it starts .
To make matters worse I am craving lemon juice and fizzy drinks .

First I would say it's pretty normal to feel tired. But check you're not anaemic. It makes you very lethargic. What have you been eating? The wrong food or too much has the same effect. I found an egg and banana a day were 'wonderful foods'. Also it does not bode well that you have no support. Throughout history women have always had each other in times such as these, even if they had little else. Sleep deprivation is a form of torture. So, please, you're not being unreasonable at all but you definitely need to establish a support network. Can your midwife give you contact details of others in the same situation as you?

phdlife · 31/03/2009 13:55

ooh can I have a whinge too?

granted ds (23m) sleeps through, but he wakes at 6 which is no good because I (39+3 weeks pg) can't sleep at all because (a) I'm 39+3, and (b) it is stinking hot and even sleeping nekkid I am waking sweaty 3-4x a night. In addition to all the wees. I look like the Corpse Bride. Well, if she'd swallowed a zeppelin, maybe.

dh does help a lot, but otoh it'd sure be nice if he had an income.

Kidowner is right I am on iron tablets after low iron showed up after my 28 week bloods .

A group is good too I go to a local childrens centre once a week and it is just really nice to sit and chat to others for a couple of hours and eat cake .

NorktasticNinja · 31/03/2009 14:08

My iron has been fine so far but it's due to be tested again this week, my diet's pretty varied but you never know...

I've been doing my best to establish a support network since before DD was born but no luck so far. There aren't any groups in the village where I live and I've not got my driving licence yet (nearly there though). I've just found out about an expat mother and toddler group reasonably locally so I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. TBH I'm often pretty useless socially.

phd - whinge away, it's extremely therapeutic!

PHD I am sick of getting up to wee too it is a bloody struggle to get out of bed too .

NN the group sounds good I only started going to this one because I have my MW appt in the childrens centre and saw a flyer I am a bit crap with new people too but dd is not shy at all and breaks the ice by just talking to anyone .

Anyone else get restless legs at night? It is driving me mad I have to prop them up really high every night then unprop them to go for a wee !

NorktasticNinja · 31/03/2009 14:50

I'm lucky not to have restless legs yet, IIRC from DD it's likely to start any day now... I still wake up for no reson in the night though, what with that, the weeing, DD and DPs snoring it's quite fun

Do you mind me asking what time you go to bed?

OP posts:
Comewhinewithme · 31/03/2009 14:59

Very early about 10pm now .

phdlife · 01/04/2009 00:08

Yes, heaving myself out of bed; reaching loo roll (ds broke the holder); getting back in to hot sticky sheets; rearranging 900 pillows...

I don't get restless legs but I do get hurled out of bed at least once a night (usually morning) with leg cramps.

we are staying up v late because if I go to bed early I can't get to sleep
