God I know I am, but so frustrating.

This woman's been taken on to cover my Mat leave and some other stuff until I go. Press release that's going out this week is on my PC and it's crap. I feel like editing it, and leaving on that I have edited it... plus a lesson in how to use fecking speech marks.

It's not good enough that my boss will be represented in the press like this... and I'm furious that she's on pots more money than me.

Plus, my boss is resigning in a month and I could do his job... but obviously I won't be in the running now.

Piss bum bollocks.

That's awful - a press release is your company's public face and the spelling and grammar should be beyond reproach.
It may be worth pointing out the errors to your boss - who may not be worried. I'm afraid those of us who care about such things are in a minority (have you seen Pedants' Corner?)

If the big boss is in today I will mention it.

I had a few weeks off with SPD early on in pregnancy and now I feel totally out of the loop for everything, like I'm already on half garden-leave.

Well. erm, ok, you'll think I am a prize cow, but if you want people to know she's not very good - Leave it - if it will be known that it is HER that did it and there's no chance people will think it's you. Let her crap work go out and reflect badly on her. That's kind of bitchy though. that it would even cross my mind to suggest it.

Or ..... the nice, teamworky thing would be to correct it and never mention it, and sit back and let her get the credit for a job well done.

PuppyMonkey · 30/03/2009 08:57

I agree with Hecate etc etc etc etc

I really do this time too!!

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 30/03/2009 09:00

hahahahahahaha

which bit - the bitchy screw-her-over-get-her-job or the nice teamwork?

Nontoxic · 30/03/2009 09:01

Actually, Hecate's suggestion did cross my mind.

rookiemater · 30/03/2009 09:07

I'd go for the nice option. It upsets me dreadfully when I see things go out with poor grammar and spelling.

Plus if you do it quietly but let her know, as soon as she goes, the quality will deterioriate again and everyone will guess that you must have sorted out the first press release for her so you will gain a sainted reputation in your absence.

It's too big a project to leave. There's key info missing as well. Will speak to office manager to see if big boss has final say over it before it goes out.
