have canged my name as a know a few real people come on here. People seem to think it is ok to put me right about my circumstances. My family is facing the prospect of no income people have said to me ' Its ok for you because you have a nice house..'

hmmm this would be the nice house that

-Was purchased in place of a pension fund.

  • we went and still go without holidays, new cars, clothes etc to buy
  • That was completely rundown and is still nowhere near in a position to get a building certificate.
  • We still cant use all of the rooms
  • would need a cash buyer as getting mortgages will be difficult to get because of the building certificate issue.

I know we are fortunate to still have a house at the mo. But why the hell should I put up this crap

sounds like a hard time.are you eligible for benefits?

the at least you have a pot to piss in must be wearing

because somone else is always worse off

and doesnt help your individual circumsatces

hope things improve

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2009 13:59

who has said this to you? So you are having to sell your home but that's ok because it's nice?! YANBU

Thanks sm. looking into it at the mo. Hoping will be able to find some sort of work. I just dont know why I should bear the brunt of thier resentment. One woman was off on holiday to the far east, - they were only going on holiday becase they 'really needed it, buts its alright for me.... I didnt get how hard it was for them'. No I guess I dont but I'll ponder that whilst you are sunning yourself.

although presumably they mean that you shouldn't have too much trouble selling, still I bet that's a great comfort!

caniborrowsomeluck · 25/03/2009 14:01

its worth trying to hang onto in the short term spb - will be hard to sell without building certificate. would be selling for virtually nothing to a cash buyer and then we still wont have a pension.

I am sure its not just me that has to put up with this. But there are only so many time you want to take it on the chin!

yes without building control approval and appropriate paperwork you will have probs selling and get a greatly reduced price

it is hard, because so many people were actively encouraged to see bricks and mortar as an investment

people can and do make glib comments and it must really grate when you are floundering

flockwallpaper · 25/03/2009 14:16

YANBU to be fed up about this, people can really lack empathy sometimes. I hope that your circumstances get better soon.

I am seeing some positive things out of the recession though - I notice that more people in our village are getting involved in local activities that don't cost much and using more local services as their spare cash is squeezed. Groups and businesses that were fighting for survival are now thriving.

fw. Agree can often be good for the community in general. We will continue to work hard and hopefully we will scrape through one way or another inspite of the snide comments.
