To think 7.15am is a bit early for DD's friend to ring me to ask what she should be wearing to school today?

We had this discussion outside the school gates last night, they go in PE kit if they want to take part in the cross country at lunchtime today, which is optional. This was discussed in front of her mother.

Phone went at 7.15am this morning and I immediately thought it would be that my Mum had had a fall. But no, just a uniform question with her expecting for me to spell it out to her, she kept on saying so do I do such and such, it is easier explaining things to my 5 year old.

She doesn't leave until 8.30, why on earth is she ringing so early and what exactly is wrong with her mother's hearing that she failed to hear what 3 10 year old girls were saying to her yesterday? I'd have a fit if DD wanted to ring someone at that time.

So am I a miserable bag with PMT or was that far too early to be ringing someone ?

Far too early imo - do you think her mum knew though that she was ringing at that time (perhaps she was still in bed?).

I would be really annoyed too (with or without pmt!)

I had a very ill father for a very long time and any early/ late phonecall always set my heart racing and so I can see where you are coming from. That said, it was a query about something today and 10 yr old girls are so changable/ insecure they can't do anything without reassurance/ backing from their mates so it is understandable if annoying. I think you should write it off as it wasn't 6am which would have been unreasonable.

Way too early. I wouldn't ring before 8 at the earliest, and only if it was absolutely necessary ....

That is far too early, we'd have been up an hour, but wouldn't expect any (non-emergency) phone calls at that time.

I think she went and asked her Mum what she was supposed to wear, her Mum said something along the lines of "oh dear, I can't remember, silly me, you'd better go and ring Wynken, she'll know" Because clearly having two children as I have rather than the one she has hones your memory skills.

Just in case you hadn't noticed there is history here ! One of millions of examples is the time I was asked if I would look after her DD when she was sick for the day whilst she went to work. Never mind the fact at the time I worked from home and had a 2 year old to look after. Many more examples so I shall contain myself and have a PMT busting morning cup of tea.
