That's far too much for a 3yo imo. I do the same as you as it's quite enough for DD.

Jesus Christ Dilemma, she will be entering her DD in one of those scary, highly inappropriate pagents that those crazy Americans enter their kids into. You know the ones were the girls are essentially groomed to be a paedos dream.

Singing lessons at 3. Oh my goodness. ( I have taught group singing to 4 year olds and that is the absolute youngest it should be, individual lessons not til age 10.

At 3 one or at the most 2 activities should be plenty. At 2 dd did rhythm time a toddler music group. At 4 she did ballet & Stagecoach. That was ample.

I do sometimes see these burnt out children in our classes, I'm a big fan of some organised activities but it has to be in moderation and geared to what the child's own interests are.

Eeek she'll be on Britains Got Talent next!

Children need time to be children. YANBU!

YANBU. Apart from the fact it is too much for a DC ,it is horrible for the adult who can't just relax at the weekend.

When does your DD's friend make mud pies?

I sense a 13-y-o drop-out in the making...

squeaver · 23/03/2009 21:55

Wait until the birthday parties start. Then she'll have no time for any of that stuff at the weekend.
