So, other half sold a photocopier for his work on my Ebay account a few weeks back.
I sent the high bidder a message to let him know that other half was in Madrid for 2 days, and that he would contact him upon his return. No response
Other half duly sends him a message the day he gets back (2 days after auction end) to let him know that he could collect any time he likes. No response.
Two further messages sent requesting collection over the next 2 weeks. No response.
So, 3 weeks after the listing end, with zero communication from bidder (and no payment), we offer it to the next highest bidder, and message 1st bidder to let him know as much.

Oh this is where it gets great......

1st bidder leaves us negative feedback, stating that 'seller says they are in the UK but sits abroad. Do not buy from them'
So, my 100% feedback that I have so proudly maintained for 5 years is gone.

He refuses to take it back. Ebay say it is not their policy to remove feedback unless it goes against their policies (swearing, abuse etc)

So I am left with no way out, 97% feedback, for something that is entirely his fault.....

Surely Ebay should be able to investigate, see the unresponded messages that I sent him, therefore proving my case, and remove the feedback? Too much to ask?

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO pissed off!

It is rather unfair that a non-paying bidder is allowed to leave feedback, especially negative feedback so unjust.

CrackopentheBaileys · 23/03/2009 22:16

yes I did that alicet, but he responded. bugger! he just said that I didnt message him and that was the end of that. The truth appears to have no bearing at all.
If he had not responded then I would have been able to get the feedback removed. Stupid stupid Ebay

crackopenthebaileys but you can prove that you DID message him. Is this what you were saying in your op you said to ebay? If they are not interested despite this I agree that they are in fact w*nkers and YANBU!!!

Still think having 97% will not stop you either buying or selling though

Agree with alicet.

My dh had a buyer do a very similar thing to him and as he had proof that he had contacted the seller, ebay removed the feedback. If you have a certain no of sales you have access to an ebay helpline, and I seem to remember him discussing it with ebay.
