To actively avoid smokers now I have a baby?

I used to be a smoker but gave up a year before I became pregnant-I used to quite enjoy it too. Now I have a baby I am horrified when someone lights up near her and I cannot abide smoky places. I have asked some of my friends if they would not smoke around dd and I feel that I don't want to hang out with them. It wouldn't have bothered me so much a few years ago. I just hate it now and i do not understand why i used to smoke. eugh!

'A nicotine byproduct called cotinine was found in the babies' urine and hair shafts even when their parents took care to smoke outside the house. This was seven times higher than levels found in babies with non-smoking parents.'

Both I think- it's also the very concept of smoking with kids. Dunno -it's just wrong!

Chellesgirl, that's not the same as being as bad or worse than smoking in the house though, is it?

I still havent found the actual statement. So im gonna have to pass, and quit now.

I think it's horrid when you pick up a little baby or toddler and they stink like an ashtray.

My parents smoked around me all my life, I detest smoking now and will not let them smoke anywhere near my DC.

YANBU. I avoid them and I don't have a baby or small DCs. I don't think that smokers realise how vile they smell.
