MIL treats DH like a baby

This has been going on for a long time but I'm just sick of it. She treats DH like a baby. When she goes to shop she comes in with "his carrier" containing a curly wurly, pink wafers and a multipack of crisps.

Its just so childish. I know it shouldn't wind me up but it really does. AIBU?

Does he lay there with his legs up,waiting for mummy to insert the cream?-I mean his nads would be out and everything

i thought BIL getting a packed lunch brought to his work by his Mum was bad (aged 32) but forever has left me

has he got really short arms?

Comewhinewithme · 20/03/2009 18:31

My mil was also concerned that dp was not eating enough I am sure she would have rubbed cream in his arsecrack had I allowed it .

When he was 20 she had a go at me because his hours changed to fulltime and it "would be too much for him".

The day I came home from having our dd he mentioned he had a slight headache and she tried to take him back to her house for a rest .

Ooooh ooooh can I add on to this?

When DH moved in with me at 19, my MIL used to buy him some shopping to see him through the week. It consisted of those horrible cheap supermarket own brand sausages, cheapo burgers and a vespa meal incase I wasn't feeding him properly This went on for at least 2 years until DH told her to stop.

She does various other things still, but nothing like putting pile cream on

'Why do mums treat their sons like babies all their lives '

You only have to look on this site to find out!! It is girls too. I did make the point on another thread that when parents won't leave a 10yr old at home, won't let them go to a shop, won't let them cook, don't want to let them go on school trips that future DIL will call it bad parenting! You have to start letting go early and make it a gradual process or you will have men who don't know how a washing machine works.

Runlikethedevil - sorry but compared to FO's MIL, YABVU . I'd be taking the piss out of my DH if his mum did that!

FO - OMG!! I officially declare that your MIL is the maddest MN has ever seen! There is absolutely no fucking way I would be putting pile cream on ds when he is 30!!!!
