Should I apologise to this lad?

I was on the bus to work on thursday when this lad got on with an mp3 player broadcasting his music to the whole bus (not even wearing bad headphones) After a couple of minutes, I just got really cross and and stormed up the bus and asked him "Is this your bedroom?" Of course his reply was "yes, didn't you see the sign on the door - it says "my room now f* off"" (I've never done this before but was very overtired and stressed about stuff at work)

I made a complaint to the driver who came back and asked him to turn it down, which he did. But now I feel that if I'd just asked him nicely to turn it down, rather than being sarcastic, I might have got a different result.

I've seen him on the bus a couple of times before and will no doubt see him again, should I apologise for my rudeness or just forget all about it?

is it in a pony tail now then pan?

Pan · 14/03/2009 23:15

ha ha ha slarty.

it's now shaved down to the wood! Hence my utterly jealous rant at young chaps in a few years time to get their hair cut.

(hopes Pan never see's her dh)

Pan · 14/03/2009 23:24

dd's dh? She won't be having one of them. IT will be banned. That sort of thing.

2shoes · 14/03/2009 23:25

lol my dh you wally, he has long hair

Pan · 14/03/2009 23:26

ah I see!

still, the ban on any dd's dp/dh remains.

2shoes · 14/03/2009 23:29

i know that feeling

OP - Impressed by the lad. He did what it takes us threads and threads to muster and compose- the sharp quick witty response. And he got to swear too, 'cos he is the yoof of today.

Bummer

Dominique07 · 14/03/2009 23:37

If you could apologise to him I bet he'll realise you're human and try harder not to annoy people so much!

edam · 14/03/2009 23:39

I'm quite taken by the idea of surprising the lad with an apology.

His comeback was very sharp BUT if he wasn't even wearing headphones he is a selfish git.

I apologised to one of dd's RUDE GIRL class-mates (a notoriously aggressive girl) after I had a go and she got arsey and foul mouthed. I bumped into her in the school the day after - loitering cos she was in trouble. I told her i was in the wrong but was on a bad day and said i was sorry.

She couldn't believe her ears and apologised to me! Ended up having a natter made me feel much better... and I think it did same for her.

If you get opportunity, wouldn't do any harm to say sorry.

Pan, Pan, I have only just seen this since posting and am giggling and have to gush that Noel said I had nice hair, so we have something in common

Pan · 15/03/2009 00:33

wow!

I used to live in an adjoining semi with Paul McGuigan the bassist and his family on the other side, and the band used to come round to practice in Pauls room.

they were awful...

zisforzebra · 15/03/2009 22:32

Thanks all. I'm not usually so snappy with complete strangers. I would feel better in myself if I said sorry, and if I expect to be told to f* off again, I won't be so surprised when I am!
