To Think My DD Should Be Able To Play In Our Garden????

Well, I am so cross!!! This morning we looked outside our sliding doors and found four huge piles of cat poo!!!! The thing is I don't have any cats. My neighbour does. Four to be exact!!!! This all started when I was pregnant. The cats decided to use mmy garden as their cat litter. I spent most of my latter pregnancy cleaning it up!!! I tried every thing. Sonic deterrents, liquid deterrents, gel deterrents!!! Towards the latter part of last year I gave up. I decided that I would deal with it this year. We opted to taking my daughter to the park. Well, this morning when DH opened the curtains he noticed FOUR HUGE PILES OF POO sitting right outside the sliding doors. The cats have now decided that they don't want to poo in the dirt anymore and have now decided to poo on the slabs of concrete!!! I know it is the cats, because we have seen them pooing. I even mentioned it to my neighbour and she said her cats are lazy for some reason and do not bother to cover their stuff up!! My DD is 26 months and I fear I am about to implode as I would love her to play in our garden. Any suggestions!!!!!!!!!

that is shocking :( have just read that article. some people are so inconsiderate. I suspect it is my next door neighbour's cat since they moved in a month ago now (as it's happening every day since they moved here) but I have no proof so I can't rant and rave until I see their cat doing it but I'm always asleep so never see the cat fouling.

If the peppercorns don't work then I'll be using the lion dung stuff.

If water guns are a deterrent, and urine is a deterrent, can anyone else think of a way to combine the two? Wink

May I just add that although most of this thread is over a year old, some of the advice contained on it is awful. It's been implied (and I've read this elsewhere as well as on MN) that children can be used to scatter the problem, so to speak. Never allow your DCs to chase away cats. It fosters an acceptance of mistreating animals and if that settles in at an early age, that can be dangerous.

I've also heard the urine thing....will that not help attract rats though? Hmm

Silent Roar works, as does Jeyes Fluid, though that is not very eco.

What an old thread!!

Can you use Silent Roar in pots where you are growing vegetables?
