I actually dont think IABU at all so I am really just posting to vent because I am very

Friends of ours called this afternoon. We havent seen them since October 2007. They live about 2 hours away. They said "we're coming down tonight for dinner! We should be there around 5, will call you when we are on our way"

Now we dont talk to them all that often either. They are the type of friends you just sort of pick up where you left off but dont have oodles of contact. And they dont have children and are pretty clueless about most things. I did sort of that they just called and told me they were coming for dinner but as it wasnt really going to inconvenience me in any way and we would be happy to see them I was happy to go along with it.

Now here we are. 6:30 and they havent called, and they havent turned up. We have called them several times and left messages, their phones are turned off. So fuck it we are cooking dinner without them. I am not making DS or me & DH wait any longer for dinner, this is when we eat and we are hungry!

They always do this sort of thing, I hate making plans with them because its so stressful trying to anticipate how badly they are going to fuck it up.

So... here I am drawing the line!

I am going to be a bad hostess and make dinner without them.

We have friends like this too!! Bloody nightmare. Arranged they would come to us for noon and they actually left theirs at noon, getting to ours at 1:30pm. We have a 2 year old and a 7 month old and so they had to eat without them plus we had other plans from 3pm. They came laden with gifts, the adults had a quick lunch then told them they had to go .

they are lovely but yes totally clueless about things like time etc. Oh well. Friends eh you take the good with the bad. But it is wrong to be over an hour and a half late in the end without calling or answering calls! I mean really... that just takes the biscuit.
