To staple important items to DH's head so that he doesn't lose them within half an hour of me giving them to him?

So, have just had DS2's parents evening and at 7, DH is watching DS1 in his production of Grease (I am going tomorrow night v. v. excited ) I gave DH the ticket for said prduction at 6 just before parents evening. We do parents evening and he pootles off to watch production. At 6.35 i recieve a call...

'Er did you give me the ticket?'

'Yes, you put it in your pocket before PE'

'Ah well i can't find it, can you look around for me'

'Ok Nope it's not here'

'Oh I will have to come and look myself'

'Well darling I can't see why you looking around the house would be any different to me looking around the house. IT IS NOT HERE!'

'What am I gonna do?'

'Go into the school, give them DS1's name and they will see that you have bought a ticket by checking their list. Failing that, you pay for another ticket on the door'

'Oh ok, see you later'

He is always doing this!!

I bet he can rattle of the FA Cup/Grand national/test Cricket/Snooker /Open Golf(Delete As applicable) winners for the last 15 years though.

He could do the golf, cricket and rugby no doubt! He remembers anything that is important to him, but I can tell him something is happening 5 times AND have it written on the calendar and he will still forget or say 'you didn't tell me!'

Is it normal?

When DH is going to work he always forgets something - phone, sunglasses, lunch
So I put them on the empty table. His brain filters them out. I put them on top of his bag. His hand involuntarily takes them off and puts them somewhere else.
Putting them in his bag would be admitting defeat, plus his bag is an anti-tardis (huge bag from the outside, no room inside) I can barely squeeze his phone in

Sounds perfectly reasonable to staple imo
