Brief summary...

I am 43 with 2 children wanting to start up a relationship with a 48 year old who is divorced and also children.

I can't get out of my head that I am too old to start again and it's too late for me now.
43 just seems so old to me and I think I this is it for me now.

Oviously there would be the difficulties of step children ,previous partners etc.

Is it possible to start again?
Would appreciate anyones elses experiences.

You are 43 not 93!! Goodness its never too late to start again and 43 is not old!!!!

whitestripes - you may have as many years ahead as you have behind you.

Go ahead and be happy - its a long time to be alone otherwise.

Podrick · 08/03/2009 16:28

Err what is it that makes it too late exactly?

Notlongnowbaby · 08/03/2009 16:49

Don't be so silly woman! You are NOT too old. 43 is young, young, young! Go for it.

OMG 43 is not old. I am 42 and due to give birth soon so hope it isn't anyway. FGS pull yourself together and go for it!

My mom divorced and got remarried in her late 50s (after 30 miserable years with my dad). It wasn't too late for her! She's a lot happier.

Oh and my Gran got remarried at the age of 80 and had a very happy last 7 years with her toy boy of 70

Acinonyx · 08/03/2009 17:27

I'm very nearly 47 and had dd at 43. I'm dh's third wife - the triumph of hope over experience

Get a grip woman - you sounds like someone's old granny!

noonki · 08/03/2009 17:34

my grandpa and (step) granny married in their fortieth year, both second marriages, both with kids. They have just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary (and their 90th's )

so you are NO WAY past it.

80sMum · 08/03/2009 17:34

43 is definitely not old! In years to come you'll look back and realise how young you were in 2009!
Whilst remembering that it's never too late, it also pays to remember that life is short. If this is something you want to do, grab the chance while you have it, as it may not come your way again. Seize the day, as they say.
