I have a huge pile of exam marking, should not be on here really. So much infact that I woke up at 5am this morning with a panic attack.

I have been marking since 6 this morning, although with frequent breaks on here and marked for most of yesterday.

Today it is my birthday and dd wants to make a cake, she is getting under our feet as the weather is bad and she cant go and run about.

Dp says he cant make a cake so I am having to stop work so I can make my own cake , meaning once again I will be working until the early hours.

Dp has tidied the house and made me breakfast this morning.

Poor DD. Doesn't he realise that if he let her do more he has the perfect excuse for a less-than-perfect cake?

Having read this thread I've just gone and made some little fairy cakes. Nothing fancy, but I wanted cake. I agree with you about shop-bought cakes, posh expensive ones can be quite nice (if Tesco Finest is posh ) but I don't like the texture of most of them, they feel wrong in my mouth.
