DD is currently learning about the origins of Bonfire night, Guy Falkes etc.

So the teacher had them act out 'that night'. DD got the part of the person who received the tip off and the teacher told her to go out of the classroom and down the coridoor at a specific point.

She did this and apparantly, as she wandered down the coridoor, the store room door opened and the teacher grabbed her and dragged her inside!!

She said he had a cloak over his head and he whispered about the plot and then pushed her back out into the coridoor again.

I know it was probably just the case of an over-enthusiastic teacher but does anyone else find this a bit OTT?

Ill judged for sure and putting himself in a vulnerable position. If I were a male teacher I would do almost everything I could to avoid being alone in a cupboard with a young pupil, if I wanted to keep my job.

Is this a hazard often encountered ???

do you have a risk assesment of such activity?

Horsewithnoname · 03/03/2009 23:52

Do female teachers often find themselves alone in cupboards with pupils? I think we should be told.

I think cupboards should be banned. Tehy are just wrong. And potentialy dangerous

Horsewithnoname · 03/03/2009 23:55

Yes, you could get trapped inside. Although if you had a small child handy you could post it under the door to get help.

nickschick · 03/03/2009 23:55

Horsewithnoname · 03/03/2009 23:57

I have three wigs in my filing cabinet! The Yr 11 boys like to use them for role play . I frequently dress up at school - last time I went as a mad Goth trying (but failing) to dress correctly for a job interview!
