to think £6-700 for a week in Cornwall at Easter is outrageous?

I know, I know, holidays in school holiday time are extortionate but I wondered if anyone had any ideas about where to go for a week at Easter?

I had been thinking about St Ives - outrageously expensive for a decent flat/house and will be overrun by awful tossy haired boden poppets and rich yummy mummys.

We went to Lyme Regis at half term.

Flying somehwere for a city break will cost about £500-600 before we've even booked hotels (we are a family of four).

So, somewhere nice, by the sea, nice restaurants, peaceful ... ideas??

Puddingchops - I do too.

It's not even a question of whether we can afford to pay the price, it's more a question of really not wanting to spend that sort of money on a holiday which is only supposed to be a week away at the seaside!

£9.50 caravan holidays (ok you have to buy some of the dodgy "newspapers" to get the tokens but did them when the kids were younger and they were fun/cheap

I know it's not in the UK, but Brittany. It's like Cornwall but with better weather and better food, AMAZING beaches and they don't behave as if you have evil aliens with you when you turn up with children.

Yes, but Brittany is more seasonal than Cornwall - it'll be closed at Easter

And although cottages are mostly cheaper, you've got to get there somehow, & pay for things in euros when you do.
