Hear hear!

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/02/2009 12:51

I like doing it...nice to see all the dust go and surfaces all shiny

LucyJones · 27/02/2009 12:52

2 year old dd likes to do ours

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 27/02/2009 12:52

Dusting, ironing, washing windows, all pointless and thankless IMO.

Quite agree.

laweaselmys · 27/02/2009 12:55

Dust makes me sickly and cough a lot. But yes I hate it. You dust and then two days later everything is covered in dust again... it is both unfair and evil and clearly a malicious substance.

MumtoCharlieandLola · 27/02/2009 12:59

I must admit I am curious, I can't stand having dusty surfaces (I may be in the minority with Puss)

So I take it that those of you who have responded have ....... (pause for breath for effect) dirty houses

ContainsMildPeril · 27/02/2009 13:01

I dust so infrequently i get cross if anyone moves any of my ornaments.

Wizzska · 27/02/2009 14:47

Mumtocharlieandlola - my house is minging.

ThePellyandMe · 27/02/2009 14:55

I hardly ever dust

I have a very dirty house MUmtoCharlieand Lola. But If I have people coming round I do make an effort to clean the bits they might see

spongebrainbigpants · 27/02/2009 14:58

As Quentin Crisp once famously said, "After four years you don't notice the dust."

Don't bother - tedious and pointless job! Never do it except when I can't see the tv screen!!

georgimama · 27/02/2009 15:04

Get a toddler to do it. Mine's very good, I could send him round for a fee (and a packet of white chocolate buttons).

pushkar · 27/02/2009 15:11

roll on quentin crisp .....

MumtoCharlieandLola · 27/02/2009 15:13

Honestly, I couldn't sleep at night, I don't know how you can just leave it !!!

Actually, its only the TV that gets on my wick and thats only because its black and shiny and you can see the dust.

2shoes · 27/02/2009 16:17

my dear sil once pointed out to me, that I was supposed to lift the ornamenets and dust not just dust round them

OP posts:
hobnob57 · 27/02/2009 16:20

isn't that what hoover attachments are for?!

spongebrainbigpants · 27/02/2009 16:35

lift the ornaments 2shoes?!

I might get RSI

TheCrackFox · 27/02/2009 16:37

I will only agree to banning dusting if we can included ironing as well. Another mind numbing job.

spongebrainbigpants · 27/02/2009 16:39

crackfox, what's ironing?

ThePellyandMe · 27/02/2009 16:42

I don't have ornaments, solves that problem.

The only time the dirty tv screen bothers me is when the sun shines on it and I see all the ds's finger marks. Easily solved by pulling the curtains

spongebrainbigpants · 27/02/2009 16:46

@ pelly!

I find the dust gives a flattering soft focus look myself!

Wallace · 27/02/2009 16:49

Was trying to guess the next line before I opened the thread, thought it might be "to think dusting should be...done daily?"

So glad it isn't

ChopsTheDuck · 27/02/2009 17:11

my toddler is an ace duster too. If only he could be trusted with a stepladder...

georgimama · 28/02/2009 07:28

I find abolishing overhead lighting helps. Lamp light gives life (including DH) a softened look I find most soothing.
