To think my fiance should ask me before syaing yes to his employers!!

Df has come home tonight and said he has to go work in Eastern Europe for a few weeks. His firm has a new client there and they want df to go make some connections. He has said yes - and is quite excited about the travel.

I am furious - we are supposed to be getting married in a few months and if this job goes bad he could be trapped there for months! His employer is lovely (mostly) but the new client sounds very demanding and is going to want a lot of work from dh. Am I being unreasonable to not want my fiance sucked dry by his work?

Oh go on, admit it, this is a wind-up. Does anyone really use the word fiance this days?

he has to go to EE for a few weeks and you are not getting married till a few months

sure all will be fine, maybe he didnt have a choice, and if he said no, he wouldnt have a job - and no money to pay for your wedding

what is all this tosh about 'being stuck there'???

Surely he can get himself on a flight home at any time, if things went wrong.

And if he refues to go, he may not have a job anyway, and then you would be moaning about that.

You have your whole lives together, why not let him try to get on with his job.
