Is it really really mean and nasty to tease a freecycler offering something stupid?

I am trying to stop myself sending her a begging email saying please please PLEASE, I have always wanted this, I need it soooo much . . . and then not coming to collect.

Do you want to guess what is being offered?

Tis better than the half usedmake upa nd worn tights one woman on ours gives

Oh yes indeedy LOL

Wizzska · 24/02/2009 13:11

Maybe it is fashion speak, using the singular version like trouser.

'A plimsoll is perfect for pairing with a slim cut trouser for this spring summer season'.

BalloonSlayer · 24/02/2009 13:13

But wouldn't you be able to muster up enough odd socks from your own collection if you wanted to, Lockets?

We have approx 30 socks in our "singles" box.

I am certain I would not spend time emailing and phoning to arrange collection, then getting in my car and driving to collect some belonging to a complete stranger, which might well be full of athletes foot and verrucas.

I would never mock the cardboard box though!

No one ever has a cardboard box when they need one. Freecycle very handy for those.

Hey Balloonslayer! We're on the same Freecycle - somewhere starting with the letter C. I just saw that plimsoll advert too. I couldn't believe it.
Go on....e-mail them.
{grin]

Now this has cheered me up!

BalloonSlayer · 24/02/2009 14:06

Lockets you don't fancy doing my laundry for me do you?

I can pay you in sock puppets...

Popple, yes, you are right, the "C" place.

At least people now know I am not making it up!

Don't you have to offer things before you can ask for them on Freecycle?

Maybe people offer tat just to get accepted and then ask for Plasma TVs or Wiis?

Grammaticus · 24/02/2009 14:33

You're surely not suggesting one plimsoll is tat??

Rachmumoftwo · 24/02/2009 14:35

Not at all, I meant in general people may offer tat

Better than the 'half used jar of vaseline' offered on ours recently

mysteryfairy · 25/02/2009 17:58

For anyone struggling to get a pair of plimsolls in the absence of woolies they are £2.50 delivered from John Lewis

Triggles · 25/02/2009 19:36

We have one on our freecycle that recently offered an opened, partly used box of cereal that they didn't like.
