Did you see the Mail today? There's been a campaign from parents complaining about the presenter Cerrie Burnell, who only has one arm, saying she might give children nightmares. Who are these parents and what's their problem?

Do you know what - I think this is fucking disgusting.

My 2 year old son has a congenital hand deformity. He is the most beautiful, happy little boy you could ever meet. The idea he can give anyone nightmares is beyond ridicyulous. Perhaps I should lock him away

Actually, I am fucking LIVID

Can you comment on the DM article?

StealthPolarBear · 24/02/2009 09:33

Sheik, I can see why you're livid, but I think even in RL there are more people who think this is crazy than agree

Cerrie was on BBC Breakfast this morning. Handled it really well and the presenters commented on the overwhelming number of emails they had had this morning in support of her.

SalopianGirl · 24/02/2009 09:36

If anyone's interested they're discussing this on The Wright Stuff (channel 5) this morning.

squeaver · 24/02/2009 09:36

Like I said on another thread, I'm sure the DM posts contentious threads here and elsewhere just so they can then write them up as "news"

justneedsomesleep · 24/02/2009 14:19

Cerrie is lovely and can't believe people are complaining. Does it affect her ability to do her job? No. FFS!

Not everyone looks the same and children should learn that we have differences.

I take it the person who wrote the article has never watched Something Special on CBeebies - goodness knows what nightmares children will be getting when they watch that! (heavy sarcasm btw )

My daughter didn't notice until a friend asked me while in the same room and dd replied 'she's just got a sore arm' and went on watching the programme.

If a 3 year old can get it, why can't the journalist on the Mail and the 'worried parents'
Jeez...the stupidity...the ignorance....(getting angry now thinking about it...)

Some people's children are obviously big wusses. She couldn't be scary if she yelled "Boo!" really loudly while bursting a balloon at the same time.

And yet people inflict clown on their kids all the time
