As a line manager can I demand to see someone's Facebook pages?

Because someone who works with me took three days off recently due to "a stomach bug".

I've been told her Facebook pages say she went away for a few days and got pissed with her friends.

Assuming she doesn't own up when I confront her, can I insist on seeing her Facebook pages? If there's no such stuff on there, why would she hide it?

What do you think?

CuddlyKelpie · 21/02/2009 21:27

Sorry MMOC. I read the first page and fired off my post. I think comments about your ability to manage are uncalled for.

Got no anwer on the white dog poo but no have not seen any for ages.

Ghosts no, but my neighbor can often be seen out at dusk with her digital camera snapping the 'orbs'.

gigglewitch · 21/02/2009 21:28

Gawd, the things on my google list.

I would hardly say there was anything vitriolic in here -

More like 'Of course you can't demand to look at her FB pages you stupid twat'

rookiemater · 21/02/2009 21:32

MMMOC my thread was something like " I'm stressed about having to taste Dss formula going through airport security". It was just after they introduced all the increased security at the airports.

I thought that it would end up either a) ignored as most of my threads were or b) be a lighthearted debate about which of the brands were least disgusting.

Instead I was accused of being anti patriotic for not supporting the authorities and thereby encouraging terrorists , I was a poor mother for not breast feeding and I was a strung out neurotic for worrying about such a thing.

I kept apologising for my choice of words and explaining it was meant to be light hearted, but it fell on deaf ears. I was slightly upset by it for a couple of days, but it was well over 2 years ago so it can't have put me off that badly.

And no, haven't seen any white poo for a long time.

gigglewitch · 21/02/2009 21:32

MMOC =Mary Manager of Cheeses

AKA Big Cheese?

SoupDragon · 21/02/2009 21:33

Oh, there are plenty of vitriolic posts on this thread.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 21/02/2009 21:34

Rookie, i think I remember that one

I seem to recall reading all the responses and being amazed that people can read so much into things! Why I'm amazed I don't know, I should know MN better....

I thought the dried-up white dog poo was because they used to bulk out cheap dog food with ash.

SparkyFartDust · 21/02/2009 21:42

what does BTW stand for

(MMOC- trying another diversion tactic for you)

boogiewoogie · 21/02/2009 21:45

Invasion of privacy as someone has already pointed out even though it's posted publicly .

On the other hand it serves her right for being so stupid to post stuff like that on her Facebook account in the first place. Another reason why I'm so glad to have committed Facebook suicide.

ScottishMummy · 21/02/2009 21:48

BTW-by the way hen

Ivykaty44 · 21/02/2009 21:51
