To be not feeling very "sexy" after having searched for (and located) worms from my DS s bum?

Apologies for the crudity (sp? crudite).
These and other childcare-related issues conspire to put me right off getting jiggy

YANBU

Crudite is raw veg

carolethehomemaker · 20/02/2009 22:19

it's at the weaning stage that one tends to spot crudites in nappies.

pamplemousse · 20/02/2009 22:21

I'd be more worried if you did find it sexy
Good contraception though!

glucose · 20/02/2009 22:24

what did the worms look like?

MumOfBaby · 20/02/2009 22:30

Yeah I'm with Glucose what do worms look like?

I imagine them as wriggley white hairs for some reason, don't know where this imagine came from.

Poor your DS. And poor you for bum picking. It's definately ok for jiggyness to be out of the question.

screamingabdab · 20/02/2009 22:39

Thanks for your replies!

Hi glucose, they are about 5mm long, white, and wriggly. Can't really mistake it when you see the little buggers. Cause itchiness in the evening (they like to come out then for some reason). Poor son crying. Have already treated but persistent.

I find, that compared to nits, worms are not much talked about in polite mummy circles. I suspected whole classes are infested!

Anyhoo, off to bed, hoping to put that, and worries about older son's "doctors and nurses" shenanigans out of my head and become a desiring and desirable wife.

Do men get innapropriate worries popping into their heads at bedtime? Suspect not

I too imagine wiggly & white

TrillianAstra · 20/02/2009 22:45

If DH wants sex he can deal with the worms while you put on perfume and drink wine and try to feel sexy, yes?

(very naughty of me to assume that men are always up for sex with no need for 'getting in the mood' but it's often true)

screamingabdab · 20/02/2009 22:47

Too true, TrillianAstra, IMO

In this case though, even husband is feeling slightly blerky at the thought

My Dad was a bit like that, he'd do any dirty job you like (even involving sewers) but any sign of vomit or blood and he had to go and lie down in another room.

ScorpiowithabigS · 20/02/2009 22:51

worms are a sod to get rid of.

random · 20/02/2009 22:52

My dp could find worms ...nits ...any number of beasties and still be up for a shag

mylifemykids · 20/02/2009 23:38

'I'd be more worried if you did find it sexy'

OMG that's just too funny or I'm too drunk

Obviously it's different for men who find anything 'sexy'!

cory · 20/02/2009 23:44

Perhaps not the evening for bum sex then?

captainpeacock · 20/02/2009 23:45

Very funny posts. My ds has had worms and I have had to treat them twice. What I didn't know is that he has had them for the past two years but has been too embarrassed to tell me so has just been putting up with it. I feel so sorry for him, we sorted it out with a couple of pills within a couple of days of his last two episodes.

mugwumpy · 21/02/2009 10:02

was horny as hell when pregnant until my stepkids gave me wiggly white fuckers....

choochoochaboogie · 21/02/2009 11:07

Get Boots threadworm tablets - they do a family pack and make whole family have one at same time or the wretched leetle buggers will do the rounds....

hatwoman · 21/02/2009 11:15

the presence of worms in our house makes me utterly paranoid about having them myself, and never being able to get rid of them as a whole family. and the slightest tickle or itch sends me into panic. I have often thought about posting on mn as to whether the whole thing makes the thought of sex utterly uncountenanceable (did I just make that word up?) coz it certainly does for me.

but, dh keeps telling me about an article he read in New Scientist positing the theory that the increase in allergies in modern society could be linked to the decrease in human parasites such as worms. the immune system hasn;t got enough to fight against so starts fighting itself. . I keep telling him I don't care I still hate the buggers.

screamingabdab · 21/02/2009 16:48

Well, this "thread" has certainly opened up a "can of worms"
I have also noticed how, quite by accident, we are all referring to them as "buggers". Very appropriate!

PUN-TASTIC

And dear grandmother won't come to stay unless we have de-wormed the family!!!!! btw you can also get the wormer in liquid for those averse to swallowing pills.

morningsun · 21/02/2009 17:12

katiestar · 23/02/2009 10:52
