Following the disabled toilet thread, was this unreasonable...?

This happened a while ago.

I was driving and was held up in traffic and had a period disaster, tampon became saturated and soaked through to my clothes.
I parked at the next available filling station and asked to use the loo. The attendant refused, saying they had no public loos. I am not sure if he was aware of my predicament, he would have been as I walked away at any rate . I ended up meekly walking out, not wanting to draw further attention to myself, and eventually found a public loo on the street - one of those pod jobs. My clothes were still stained and wet and awful though. I wonder if I should have persisted in the filling station and insisted/asked for some understanding? There were a number of females in the queue, but they just looked a bit blank.

Was IBU?

On a similar (kind of) note - my SIL was once at a wedding where the bride had a small but obvious period stain on the back of her white dress... Poor woman

Apparently a pregnant woman may ask a policeman to remove his helmet so she can wee in it!

Honest - my friend's dh is in the Met Police and I asked him if it's really true!

Oh look at silly me - I should have read the whole thread and I would have seen someone else had already posted that.

Does the policeman have to put his helmet on again afterwards?

Do WPCs have helmets (on their heads) or just those pork pie jobs?

Under no circumstances would I have allowed anyone to use the toilets at the shops I used to run. A major security risk to both stock and staff. And yes, people have urinated in and on the shop and a colleague had someone defecate on the floor....I don't think they were mumsnetters though...

Oh and to OP, you need a mooncup
