I recieved a friend request from a girl I went to school with, which I accepted. She messaged me and we traded messages for a while. Se asked me what I did and I said I was a SAHM to 3 children, to which her reply was 'Three at out age - wow! what happened to all your ambition :S'

I know its just from some stupid person that I knew from ages ago, but she confirms all the bad things I feel about myself. I am only 25, but I love being a Mummy and so I dont know why I am so upset.

YANBU

delete her as a friend if she feels free to make silly comments

'too much fun for babies' roughly translates as 'the only shags I can get are when I am pissed and so is he, and i'd probably best not tAke the baby and gonnorrhea route quite yet

Some people are having too much fun of course, and my frined was one of them, but she never felt the need to compare her choices to mine at all.

Tsarchasm, my words of wisdom are borne of bitter experience; I am 45 and my youngest is 8, and am wondering how on earth I can make some sort of worthwhile career happen before I'm totally decrepit (I don't really feel bitter, of course - just wish I'd got down to the baby thing sooner).

Divine - I was still single (well ish) and child free at 34! I certainly didn't feel I was missing out on anything and had a lovely time. It all kicked off when I was 35!

What a thoughtless comment.

I'm 28 and have 3 kids 5 and under. My friends were all that I wanted my kids young, and were quite similar to your friend.

Now two of them are pregnant with their first babies, and who do you think they have come to with all their pre-PFB questions??? She-who-knows-from-experience

I wanted to have my children young, my mum had all 3 of us by the time she was 27 and my dad was 10 years older than her, so he was getting a bit worn out by the time we were 10+ . Sadly didn't work out for me that way. But in one way I don't mind as I got all my other stuff out the way and was sooooo ready to stay at home and look after my (currently wailing for attention) gorgeous DS.
