to think that all this moaning about the snow should STOP, as in fact, it is all here to help us make fab memories for our children.....!!!

how many of you can remember the fun and wonder of the snowy days from our childhood???

I can......all about 6 of them, from differing years, and despite lots of my childhood being crap, the ones filled with snow are actually pretty much my best memories of chidhood, if not my ONLY fabulous memories of childhood!!!

days like these are so very rare, even my eldest DD can only remember 4 times of playing in the snow.......when she was 3, 7 or 8, the time we took them to luxembourg for new years and there was 2ft of snow, and then again a dusting when we returned that same year (she was 11).

and now this year.

5 memories

5 to add to her childhood, and her childhood is so close to being over...........she is 15 this year.

sooooooooooooooooooooooooo

IMVHO

we should revel in this and quit moaning.............we are making memories.

I too am sick of al the ppeople moaning about the ocuntry coming to a halt with a 'little bit of snow'. It may be a little for some but here in south Dorset we have not had this much snow since before dc were born andd wute frankly, we all know this country come toa resounding halt in 'extreme' weather so just chill out and have a sense of humour about it!

I would much rather people erred on the side of caution and stopped buses runnnng than put a driver in charge of 12 tons of vehicle that they are not ecperience driving in such slippery conditions.

i for one will not be buying snow tyres and snow chains for my car on the offchanc it may snow again like this in the next 8-10 years.

I am so sick of all thee people snorting on about how crap the country is bla bla yadda yadda in a smug self opinionated way from the conmforts of their own homes no doubt! I am glad ds'sschol shut today. They have not seen snow like this in the 6-8 years theyhave been alive and I want a day spent making snowmen, haivng sno ball fights, sledging and having fun! I am sure their education will not suffer and my photo album benefits greatly!

Dp and I went for a lovely snowy walk yesterday in the park - it was magical, and everyone was laughing and smiling - so nice to hear.

However, snow is melting today, and had to drive to midwife's appointment this morning. Got my little ka half way up the very steep drive we share with others in the house (we're in a flat) and then it decided to slide all the way back down by itself on the ice that had formed. Weee! Bit scary . Managed to get to midwife's though, as v nice friend who lives 10 minutes away came and got me. Hurrah for fab friends

I love the snow, we have around 5 inches in dorset (which is a lot for us), both dd's are home and we have been making snowmen, its now starting to melt but we are still getting small snow flurries. I hope we get more, dh is hoping it melts so he can go to work in the morning.
