I have just discovered that Gary Glitter is living less than a mile away from my sons school in Margate,,,,,,,,,, i know he is probably being monitored etc but its the thought that he is so close...... People keep telling me has to live somewhere.....cant they find some far flung island to put him on??

When you think about all the lookalikes that come out of the woodwork when someone becomes famous, it's hardly surprising that there are many so called sightings of a famous person hundreds of miles apart.

Sad fact is that he's probably one of about 50 living in your local area. No one is likely to live more than a mile away from one anyway.

Well last week I was told Garry Glitter was living in a village near me and we are nowhere near Margate!

For what it's worth there reallya re poeple on the sex ofenders register everywhere- I lived in a tiny village and we accidentally knew (long story involving friend being raped and a naughty disclosure from local officers) that there were three in that place alone; out of 16 residents!>
