She doesn't say the 'h' at the beginning of words that begin with 'h'.

Today we sang:

Umpty Dumpty
Ickory dickory dock
Eads, shoulders, knees and toes

The little girl next to us was called Hannah. She was called Annah all lesson.

Or should I just grit my teeth and stop being such an Orrible Snob?

Horses for courses

Dcs and I love Tumbletots, but I really don't get the sneeriness about it, it's just a playgroup.

In January I really appreciate being in the warm indoors where the dcs & me let off steam, get active and socialise rather than freezing my Boden clad arse off at the playground and have to unstick dcs' frozen hands from the play equipment. I leave that to dh who takes them to the park and swimming.

That reminds me, I must get my 17 month old DD booked onto some horse riding lessons at the soonest opportunity. After all, my aim is for her to become the youngest ever Olympic show jumping champion (d'ya reckon she would make London 2012?).

I wish I was able to teach my DS to swim by myself but I would make a right hash of it. There's no way I would know how to teach him how to do the strokes properly when the time comes. I didn't have proper swimming lessons and it really shows. My technique is crap and I find swimming really difficult.

So if you don't like it, why are you here? - well initially to answer the OP of course then latterly to try to understand why you are so snide about classes.

I explained why my mum takes DS and why I used to take him. Wondered if that made any dent on your disapproval of the idiots who take their children, but obviously you didn't want to engage with that. Your choice.

But the nice thing about MN is that I don't have to stop discussing it because you disagree with me. My most enlightening discussions on MN have been with people I disagreed with profoundly - though obviously not in this case as I haven't got past "people who spend money on baby/toddler classes are idiots who don't like spending time with their children". So I'll just accept you have strong views on the subject that aren't open to discussion.

FWIW - Tiramissu, I don't think I stated anywhere that you 'cared', though perhaps assumed you did or why would you spend time posting on it. Certiainly don't think you lose sleep over the subject - I would think you most odd if you did.

I don't have particularly strong feelings on the subject myself - was just a little startled by the rather aggressive reaction to classes and felt the need to put an alternative view.

YABU

Although depends if you take her for swimming or diction...

We will, of course, be going swimming next week. Aitches or no aitches, my DD loves it.

The post was a poor excuse to share my "Orrible Snob" line that occurred to me as we were leaving the pool and made me titter.
