more of a rant really. I'm on the train, there is a woman behind me, very posh.

So far in the past 10 minutes i (and everyone else in the carriage) has heard:

How her mummy is in a 'fabby' retirement village, where they dont allow people with altzimers..its not that she doesnt have any sympathy with them but she doesnt want mummy mixing with them and that her financial advisor had recommend it.

How ryan air are now flying to malta so they'll be able to go to their holiday home, but monty is going to take some persuading as he wouldnt set foot on ryan air as it is terribly working class.

And how annabel is taking her exams 6 months early as the teacher thinks she is extremely advanced for her age.

Is there any need to talk about this stuff, at such a volume on the train?

Although it is quite amusing.

Spockette. That reminds me of another one recently where three 20-something blokes were arranging a drinking session that evening. One of them turns round and says "hang on, I just need to dump my girlfriend, she's right getting on my nerves" and proceeded to ring the poor girl! How unceremonious! He got off at the same stop as me and I could still hear him... "don't cry... it's ok... it's nothing to do with that... I'm just not ready for...".

Last week,During a two hour train journey there was this little boy (about 2 yo )who would not settle and was crying. I do not thing anybody did mind the crying, but the mum who was shouting at him to stop crying and sit down (while she was very busy on her laptop.) really got on everyones nerves. The poor little mite was clearly tired and grumpy, a little cuddle would have calmed him down and he would have probably fallen asleep fairly quickly after it. Instead, 1 1/2 hour of the trip was to the (loud)sound of: "x do not run through the carriages!" "x stop crying!" "x here is your fruit shoot!*(genuine!) "x calm down, now!" "x you are ennoying everyone!" "x can't you see mum is busy?" "X stop it now, stop it, stop crying now!"

I had a girl next to me the other day talking so loudly on her mobile phone that I couldn't read or listen to the ipod. . I even did my best sighing and she didn't notice - perhaps a bit more assertiveness is needed .

I hate the stag do's getting completely wasted on the morning train to Newcastle - how desperate is that?
