I don't think I've told my DM joke for a while so here goes!

How do you confuse a DM reader?

Tell them that asylum seekers kill paedophiles!

igivein · 26/01/2009 13:51

I think the DM is brilliant, but you've got think of it a bit like Viz, then it's fun to read.
It's also really good for getting thick students to understand that people who write things have an agenda - get them to read the same story in the DM and in Grauniad and them critique them.

Daily Mail Online is my dirty secret, too. I just love the comments, they make me howl. I went for a job interview with their 'communities' team once when the website was just getting off the ground - the job was basically moderating the comments. I'd never really been on the website at that point and I still kick myself for stuffing up the interview, because I think I'd have loved it!

noonki · 26/01/2009 14:07

lol dunder

surely:

'asylum seekers kill paedos lead to house price crash'

would just blow their minds (if they have one)

abraid · 26/01/2009 14:15

It always amuses me how any people here read the DM, always hastily adding that, of course, they really hate the newspaper. If you don't like it, why do you read it???

Desiderata · 26/01/2009 18:57

I didn't say I didn't read it, annoying devil.

Your name suits you.

I read it on-line.

Have banned the DM from my house. After working a 12 hour shift (and probably a few hours unpaid) for the NHS, I used to get the DM and read about what a lazy, dirty, whoring nurse I am. This from a journalist (and I use the term lightly) who probably spends the day on her big fat backside drinking coffee all day - oh sorry, that what the DM thinks NHS nurses do all day.

Oh and do not get me on to the subject of dirty nurses spreading MRSA.

I stick to The Telegraph now. But the pages are annoyingly large.
