(Admittedly I don't like snow enough to be a credit to my species.)

mrshammond · 19/01/2009 11:40

Ripe - you're right, it never snows down south but it is always bloody raining where I am!!!

Lemontart · 19/01/2009 11:43

not fair! Give me snow storms, black clouds full of the stuff, icy cold winds and frosted windows! Being down South definitely has it?s disadvantages if you are a cold-loving snowphile

curlygal · 19/01/2009 11:55

I'm very excited by the snow - it was so wet this morning that I didn;t think it would lie.

Such a shame that DS is off nursery with general malaise as I would love to go out and play and try out my new snow boots for the first time in actual snow.......

Nemoandthefishes · 19/01/2009 12:02

very rarely get now here..just rain rain and more rain.

Aitch · 19/01/2009 12:04

we don't have any here, snowleopard, send us some over, will ya?

NinaMyers · 19/01/2009 12:14

Tis snowing in Fife too. I'm stuck in the house wishing DD was big enough to play in it

TheInvisibleBardDidIt · 19/01/2009 12:34

YANBU!!!

Hate the snow! I'm in North Lanarkshire- none yet thank goodness. Was very sleety this morning

Nemoandthefishes · 19/01/2009 13:14

OMG as if to prove me wrong it is snowing in liverpool[hock] hope it sticks..cant wait to get ds!!!

Ledodgy · 19/01/2009 13:16

Did you see how big the actual snowflakes were a few minutes ago Nemo? I've never seen snowflakes that big!

Nemoandthefishes · 19/01/2009 13:25

lol didnt just see it..was out in it!!!!had to get the girls from nursery and we got covered..

Ledodgy · 19/01/2009 13:33

I think it's turned to rain now but it is freezing! I wish it would snow when dry so it will stick. I hate this time of the year and feel it may as well snow and be cold so we can get the sledges out rather than just be cold and pissing down!

Nemoandthefishes · 19/01/2009 13:35

i know..gutted was hoping it would stick so when I got ds he would be delighted

Joolyjoolyjoo · 19/01/2009 13:37

THink yourself lucky- I'm in South Lanarkshire and have just dragged one wet child and a soggy pram containing a tantrumming toddler who hates the rain cover round the park with the dogs in horrible freezing cold rain, with accompanying howling gale! I would SO much rather have snow than rain.

choccynutter · 19/01/2009 13:42

no fair me love snowwwwwwwwwwwwwww

TheInvisibleBardDidIt · 19/01/2009 14:17

You can't be that far from me. Horrible day isn't it

Joolyjoolyjoo · 19/01/2009 14:25

Hi InvisibleBard- 'tis horrible out there! Just trying to psych myself up for the walk to pick dd1 up from the school bus soon- I'm reeeally tempted to take the car, but they are starting roadworks on our road today, so probably be quicker (if not drier!) walking!

TheInvisibleBardDidIt · 19/01/2009 15:44

Well it is now a lovely sunny, crisp afternoon here!! Just walked up to get ds1 from school, and it was so nice I'm thinking of walking back up to get ds2 from his club rather than take the car!

This weather is sooo unpredictable!

Joolyjoolyjoo · 19/01/2009 17:16

I hear you! Was actually quite nice when I steeled myself to go get dd- now it is snowing!!

yummytummy · 19/01/2009 19:19

you ungrateful so and so. i would kill for some snow. my child will most likely grow up never enjoying the fun of playing in the snow like i did.

yummytummy · 19/01/2009 19:22

so yes YABVVVVVU (envy)

differentID · 19/01/2009 19:24

I wish it would just make up it's sodding mind!
There's just a few flakes then rain, then another few flakes then hail, then there's the rain with the sodding snow flakes visible in it!!

TheInvisibleBardDidIt · 19/01/2009 19:34

We now have horrible slush

And it was so nice here earlier!

Joolyjoolyjoo · 19/01/2009 19:46

we also have slush...but it has frozen, so the streets are treacherous again! Last time it was like this we were like mountaineers trying to get up the hill to the bus stop- me hanging onto the wall with one hand, buggy in the other, 2 children hanging onto my coat for dear life- please God it either thaws or snows properly before the morning!

MadameOvary · 19/01/2009 19:48

See that's my problem.
Snow is ok at first.
But its what it turns into.
Slush.
Ice.
Big soggy muddy puddles.
Takes ages to get anywhere (by car or on foot)
[retreats back to hot mug and turns heating up]
