To hold DSD's 13 th birthday party in a function room of a pub?

Appols, I've already posted this in the parties section but didn't get much response.

Suppose the question is, would you let your 12/13 yo dc's go to this party? We're thinking of holding it in a function room above a fairly nice, foody type pub. It will be on a Sunday and will finish at 9ish I think so shouldn't be too busy in there.

I'm not quite sure though. I would hate some of her friends no not be allowed to come.

Would really appreciate some input, thanks.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Dh and I would probably go for a meal and a drink while the party was on!

That's what I was thinking parents might do surfermum. They might be quite thankful!

god yes!

I would take the opportunity of having a drink in the bar.

In fact, dp and I would probably argue about who was going to take her to the party!

Twill be fine. Anyone who has a problem with this is a twat, tbh. You're having a function in... a function room. Where's the problem with that?

wouldn't bother me at all

We had DSD2s 7th birthday in a pub function room christwhisth and I didn't worry about that because 7 year olds can't pass for 18 where as some 13ys's can, or at least would try!

Ok, general consensus seems to be that it's fine.

Right, I'll book it then. Thanks everyone!

We had ds's first birthday party in a (very smart) room above a (very posh) pub. Lots of children there.
