Not to like political emails with links to terrible goings on

I know I ought to educate myself politically and know more about these things, but my brain is just not able to process information about wars and who is right and who is wrong.
I never even know who to vote for.

I have a friend who continually sends me links to appalling atrocities and demonstrations and political things in the world. I never click on them, because frankly I don't UNDERSTAND what they are about, and I don't know who it is that is offering the information nor what their point of view is - it feels like i am getting something very one sided iyswim, without corroboration.

So I ignore them and get inwardly cross.

How do you deal with things like this? It's something that makes me feel awkward because I don't know what I'm supposed to do or what to believe.

IKWYM, HB. It's like trying to catch up with the whole of history just so you know what is going on in today's world. It's all relevant, but it's all to confusing and rather too much to learn.

I've started to read The Independent. I found that helped a bit

I agree with Riven. Maybe read the BBC news site (news.bbc.co.uk/) before coming onto MN. They are a bit biased sometimes but usually less so than comparative sites and they have a good selection of world news.
