DH has buggered off out. I did not get up til midday and as such I am wide awake and a bit bored.

DD has only just gone to sleep.

Would I be wrong to get pissed and eat lots of ice cream?

Of course! Gravy & chips with chow mein lol!

PavlovtheCat · 10/01/2009 01:49

I might have to spend some time teaching you about chinese food.

  1. It does NOT come with chips.

that is your first lesson.

Haha but but...

Alright then what's your favourite chinese meal??

DragonLowFatSpread · 10/01/2009 02:07

chips and gravy are not chinese food.

PavlovtheCat · 10/01/2009 10:26

My fave chinese meal from a restuarant/take away is Sea bass in chilli sauce (its a whole seabass in like a chilli and spice soup almost, with spring onions - its for two to share you eat it straight from serving dish with chopsticks) I like chow mein/plain noodles, egg fried rice, chicken dumplings (DH prefers pork). I also like sweet & Sour chicken balls. We usually eat with lots of other people as I can never decide what to eat and order far far too much!

My absolute absolute fave chinese dish though is probably chinese hotpot. I do not think you can get this in restuarants - its a hot spicey liquid (soup) under a gas stove, put in the middle of the table. Then, on lots of plates, you have raw potato, squid, prawns, crabmeat, tofu, stringy mushrooms, prawn balls, and you put whatever you want to eat into the pot, and as it cooks, you chat, and then fish it out to eat (like savoury chinese fondu).

{dragon - just checking!)

DragonLowFatSpread · 10/01/2009 21:13

ben & jerry's i think.

PavlovtheCat · 11/01/2009 22:24

Dragon - impressed with my eating all the Ben & Jerrys, there really was not very much there!
Phish Food is a fantastic pot of ice cream with hidden chocolate fish in it, its just the best

Pavlov it is the marshmallow in it what just sends me over the edge.

PavlovtheCat · 11/01/2009 22:29

pg - I shall join you, as I have no ice - cream to eat. I am quite hungry actually...

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 22:38

Just choked devoured a bowl of Special K with red berries. Just not the same hey Pavlov. Will be venturing to Tesco for a pot of B&J Phishy tomorrow. Do you know if it is on offer anywhere atm?

PavlovtheCat · 11/01/2009 22:39

Oh I don't know. I do that Morrison's always have lots of offers on lots of ice creams etc. I think this was where DH got it last time? Much more offers that sainsbury's at least.

OP posts:
pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 22:42

I do usually shop in Morrisons and looked to see if it was on offer last week but unfortunately it wasn't. Have to restrict myself to one pot then.

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 22:44

Tonight as I am a lazy fucker, I made chips, fried egg and beans. Poor DH! I am soo tired atm come 6pm. Kids had stew (was in freezer) so at least they have a healthy meal.

PavlovtheCat · 11/01/2009 22:47

I love egg and chips! We had a lazy tea too, toasted sarnie. Again (second time this week!). But DH had leftover curry from yesterday at lunch time and I had pasta, so we sort of had our meals in reverse order. I am, however very hungry, and have no christmas snacks left over. I think next year I will need to buy more so there is more leftover to eat in miserable January .

And you are not lazy you are very pregnant!!! You can be forgiven.

I made a good dinner tonight.
Inspired by a recipe in a book, but replaced pretty much all the ingredients with stuff i actually had.

so instead of pork with pine nuts and lemon and honey, we had pork chops with peppers and pine nuts and orange and honey.

pav, i checked out the pussycat stuff today in town. looks good. bought DS1 a boring jacket though instead of something exciting for me. it's all well and good me looking fabulous but if the boy is off to nursery without a coat, well it just don't look right.

PavlovtheCat · 11/01/2009 22:55

No I don't think it would be a good look for you to take him to nursery in lovely knee-high boots, fancy new woolie dress, glam, with your wee one in a t-shirt, freezing!!

Dinner sounds nice. I am not a big pork fan. In fact up until recently I never ate it at all, but told DH I would try to be less 'fussy' with what I eat! But that did sound good, what did you have with it, - mash? Rice?

OP posts:
pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 22:57

Me not a pork fan at all although love a piece of bacon and sausage. Just not a pork chop. Hate lamb as well.

DragonLowFatSpread · 11/01/2009 22:59

with rice.
pork was what they had in the co-op at 6pm so pork it was. nice for a change.

am trying to eat better.
kind of following the paul mckenna thing.
not sure if it's working but i'm definitely eating less junk.

DragonLowFatSpread · 11/01/2009 23:00

this thread makes me hungry though.
