Dh has just informed me that he wants to take ds to golf in the morning at 9.

I am a childminder, I work 7-7 M-F so by friday I'm pretty shattered. I'm doing a night shift tonight so I wont be home until about 1am.
To add to the fatigue ds (8) was sick throught the night on Wed, was off school Thurs, and now today. He is recovered but he was just very tired from the lack of sleep (ditto)
Then, last night dd (1) had a dreadful night with teething.
Ok. I think you have got the idea on my tiredness!
Anyway, I really feel that I need Sat morn to catch up and have a lie in (I can't have Sun as ds has football and dh is coach)

My dh really is lovely, as you can see from the amount of time he is spending with ds.

So here's the question.

Do I demand my lie in or suck it up and get my arse out of bed?!

So did you have your lie-in?

nametaken · 10/01/2009 16:37

She must still be there

Seems you are working too much if you are working 7-7 5 days a week, then a nightshift on Friday night. What hours do you work on Friday?

Your body can only take so much, and we only have one life. Is there any way you could drop the nightshift? (I am speaking from experience, not preaching, honestly).

Hi all, oh you are going to loooove this....

I was sick ALL night, golf and football called off, dh running around after the kids all day! Isn't it funny how things work out?
Funny weird, not haha. I am not feeling this vomiting spree AT ALL! Thats my green sick face haha

sorry CheshireKitty, I didn't answer your question. I start work at 7.30 am on Fridays, finish with the CM'ing by 7 then night shift 7.30 til roughly 1am. It's at the local pub, and I really enjoy it tbh. Gives me some time where I'm just me, not Mum, and I've always enjoyed that line of work. Bonkers, I know

The desperate measures some people will go to just to get a lie-in, eh!

Mimia · 10/01/2009 22:27

All I wanted to add as someone that works 8pm-7.15am in the morning is that 7.30-1 am is not a night shift, its a twilight shift.

CrackopentheBaileys · 11/01/2009 10:01

well I would class it as a night shift when I have worked all day too. It's technically my night time.......

If DS has been as ill as you say, then I would be putting my foot down about him going to golf at all. I think he needs a lie in as well.

Can you claim back your weekend? I've heard council office workers do!!!

CrackopentheBaileys · 12/01/2009 10:49

Great idea Divine I shall add it to my days in leiu list

I feel much better now, glad I had it at the weekend so it didn't disrupt my job.... that would have been a nightmare.
And Oh My God, they had the most beautiful food at the family party yesterday, giant prawns, oysters, paella and all I could manage was some bread. My emotions that day were something like this... hehe
