I suspect it was a bit low?

Bit of background - was with my ex for around 2 years. In that time he was a complete prat, endless empty promises, pathetically immature and spoilt brat behaviour, he was rude to me, patronised me, tried to show me up all the time, looked down on me as though he was doing me a favour being with me at all - He was a pig. And he was mean to my kids verbally and everytime I tried to break up with him, he turned the tears on before making out that I was being selfish and saying shit like "it's not just up to you where we go from here, I have a say too and I don't want it to end now" as if I should just put up and shut up.

Anyway one thing he told me about while we were together was that the lads at work call him "Big Gay " because they all reckoned he was camp and a stereotype 'closet gay'. It used to really wind him up and he was VERY sensitive to it.

Two days ago I received a text message from him saying that he had remembered lending me money last year and he has decided on a deadline to have it back by. The 'deadline' is the 14th Jan and he actually wrote "like it or not". I just wanted to scream "you complete twat!" at him, he winds me up so much.

I then see on an internet forum that he wrote "I will be getting some money on the 14th Jan so me and the missus will be going to so and so"

I was still fuming this morning. I told my friend and he joked "get a bloke to ring his work and say its his boyfriend". We had a good laugh at the thought until I said "actually, would YOU do it?" (friend is male) he jumped at the chance and so phoned his work and said

"Hello, is there please?"
they said "yes, who is it please?"
friend replied "its Tony, his boyfriend" but in a VERY sincere tone.

The bloke kind of spluttered "what?? who is it sorry?" and so friend did a fake 'sigh' and repeated "its his boyfriend, Tony. Just tell him to phone me back when he's free please". The bloke literally giggled as he replaced the handset and I know full well the lads at work will have given him HELL all day (and probably will continue to do so for weeks, if not months).

I thought it was hilarious at first, the stupid twat thinks he's gods gift and can treat people however he likes because he's a spoilt brat that is always used to getting his own way.

However when friend went home I couldn't help thinking "actually, that was quite low" and now I feel a bit shit. I KNOW he deserved it but was it really too awful?

I know with all recent activity I'll get accussed of being a troll but I'm not, just name changing for this because if you all say I was out of order, I don't want my real name tarnished with it

This really made me giggle.

YANBU - its not like he was physically hurt or anything, he's an adult and should be able to handle a bit of a dig from his colleagues. You really shouldn't give yourself a hard time about it.

beanieb · 08/01/2009 23:53

I think it's quite mean.

do you both post on the same forums then?

KELLYMG · 09/01/2009 09:51

SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE "GO QUIET" ON HERE WHEN THEY HEAR SOMETHING THAT THEY DON'T LIKE, BEANIEB.

LEAVE EX'S IN THE PAST WHERE THEY BELONG,I SAY.

STOP THINKING ABOUT THEM.
NO NEED FOR REVENGE.....NOT IF YOU FEEL OK INSIDE.

That's fantastic - no harm done, at the end of the day.... just to his pride, which is no big deal!

gonna go against the grain. i think it was low and immature. if you wanna stoop to his level fine.

Alibear1 · 09/01/2009 11:53

I think it's hilarious serves the stupid arse right.

cheshirekitty · 09/01/2009 13:42

Think it was very funny. Your xp is being low to demand money given you as a gift back.

MadamAnt · 09/01/2009 13:52

Oh dear...I'm going to have to be the party pooper and say that although he sounds like an utter arse, I really don;t think a prank that revolves around the target of the joke being called gay is very funny. I'm sure you're not homophobic in anyway, but it sounds like you've capitalised on the fact that he and his childish workmates may be. It just exacerbates anti-gay feeling IMO.

tinseltot · 09/01/2009 16:18

Am loving it! It is all good as far as i am concerned.

V. funny and sounds like he deserved bringing down a peg or too.

Perhaps you should pay him the money back but it is unreasonable of it to demand sum in full by a stated date (unless his loan to you came with agreed terms to this effect).

xx

prettybutterfly · 09/01/2009 16:46

I don't think you should pay the money back.

lou33 · 09/01/2009 16:51

I think it's quite amusing

sausagenmash · 09/01/2009 17:00

Low, but funny. What goes around, comes around - karma and all that - it was a spur of the moment thing you did in a fit of - um - desperation - he was a knob to you for yonks. Wish I knew you in real life - that's the kind of thing I'd love to do but wouldn't have the nerve! And forget the dosh thing - he's probably booked a naff chav weekend away with the new bird with the croydon facelift for the 14th and needs money to pay for the fruit machines. Or something similiar. [sarcastic spluttering emoticon]

dsrplus8 · 09/01/2009 17:05

whats a "croydon facelift"?????

sausagenmash · 09/01/2009 17:11

Oooh. I'm being mean. It's when you see those girls / women with the scraped back hair with all the gel in it into a very tight ponytail, so it looks a bit like a facelift. With lots of heavy hoopy earrings up their lugs. Apparently common in Croydon (and its true, I live near there and I've seen a few - but lots of other nice people I hasten to add) Very a la Vicky Pollard from Little Britain or Catherine Tate's Lauren character. Sorry

Fleurlechaunte · 09/01/2009 18:36

Very Low, but very deserved. What a tool he sounds. So Low but necessary imo .

dsrplus8 · 09/01/2009 21:22

pmsl at sausagenmash....i know someone who sports that look,...but shes not from croydon.

Salleroo · 09/01/2009 21:30

Well done you, and let him sing for his money. Immature twat!
