to spend all my Christmas money in four shops and two hours?

I went and had the most terrific binge in Smiths, Borders and Hobbycraft (and the ELC!).

DH eyed my Christmas cheques beadily when they came and I know he was calculating how much undercoat and emulsion he could buy with that .... but now it's pretty much all gone. I did buy him a bottle of very nice Chateauneuf du Pape, so he can't complain that much, can he? Or can he?

We do still have to decorate.

Am feeling a bit self-indulgent. AIBU or is it ok?

I say treat yourself.

YANBU at all.

DH and I did discuss out Christmas money spending. We got a total of £90 each.

We put £100 towards a Wii for the whole family (using Tesco vouchers to pay for the rest) and used £90 to keep ourselves in the black.

As I am crap at the Wii and sick of bowling and carnival games (our only 2 so far), and although I am pleased not to be financially uncomfortable (so far) I would much rather have blown the lot on a DVD and book splurge on Amazon.

So in a very type of way...good for you PeanutButterfly

YABU to have spent it on everyone but yourself you nutjob!

We got a couple of Xmas cheques - from DH's nana and his Dad.

We bought a new loo seat, laundry basket and toy box.

Actually, by those rules, I should give myself a slap for the toybox - but the old one was so useless it drove us mad. As shallow as a shoe box and twice and redundant.

Hurrah!

I spend all of it on myself - on nice clothes, etc

Sycamoretree · 08/01/2009 11:50

I just realised how boring that looks! Does it help that our loo sit is a bit sparkly? And that the laundry basket is tres chic and from the White Company and we no longer have the one I bought when I was a student?

Thought not

DH and I both recieve Christmas money from his Mum and Dad. I often just let it go into the general household spending. But this year will be spending it on an outfit for my daughters Wedding.
