i have LOVED having them at home this holiday. they have played nicely together, been good company, have chilled out together.

i hate that during term time , i only get them when they are knackered! and we always rushing and having to make sure homework is done and bags are packed and shoes are polished and whatever whatever...

i'm not looking forward to tomorrow at all.

I feel the same. Lovely holiday here, DS2 only started school in September and it has been great having him and his brother at home again. They can't wait to go back though. We do get to play in the snow today as teacher training day here.

Saying all that it will be nice to get the house straight and tidy again.

I was dreading it, I hate the monotony of the routine. The ds' have been sleeping in till beyond 8am every morning during the hols

Anyway we get up and out, much stress and cajoling of reluctant boys, only to find thet the sodding schools closed due to no heating.

Its a brand new school fgs

It's lovely to read that some people enjoy having their kids at home. I find it disheartening to see so many threads where people say they can't wait for the kids to go back to school. Thanks for starting this, TMMJ.

I don't want mine to go back either. I've loved having them around. It's made worse by the fact that DS2 goes full-time from tomorrow instead of 9-12. I'll miss my little friend in the afternoons.

Hello themulledmanneredjanitor I felt exactly like you this morning, well, I started feeeling like that over the week end really. I think the holidays are great because the children are relaxed and even if we do not have things planned for everyday they enjoy just being with us as much as we enjoy just being with them. I also feel for DD4 every time a holiday finishes because instead of having her siblings to play with she is stuck with me all day again. also, the way she is bouncing on my knee while finally finishing her bowl of cereals, she does not seem too traumatised!

i'll bet she will enjoy having you all her to herself goronine! happy new year btw!

totally agree with mmj - I am having to hide my blues from the children as I don't want to make them feel worse than they already do. Being positive and letting them run completely amok today just as they have requested.

HSMM · 05/01/2009 10:58

My DD was moaning about going back to school tomorrow, so I said I could home educate her and she could stay home. She is looking forward to going back now

Gorionine · 05/01/2009 10:59

Maybe you'll have a year twice happier than anyone else?

themulledmanneredjanitor · 05/01/2009 11:09
