thanks fairlady and ninedragons. I think what really stung wasn't so much the "you're fat" comment but the fact that she clearly thought she was more entitled to a man than me because she's more attractive.

I had a friend who said a similar thing once. It was along the lines of 'how come you get good boyfriends and you're fat and ugly?' My reply was along the lines of 'because I'm not a slag'.
