to expect my dh to be nice and sympathetic when I have had a crappy day instead of being horrible with me?

Just need to rant a bit here...

Crashed car 3 weeks ago, stupid accident, anyway, DVLA have decided to take ages to register us as the new keepers of the vehicle and so still havent sent us the log book through.

Without the log book the insurance company wont pay out so we cant get a new car until they do.

I NEED a car for my job - im a childminder and schools are too far away to walk to so Im getting really cross and upset with the DVLA and insurance company for not helping me anymore.

They take my hire car away tomorrow as the max is 21 days, I cant hire a car because Im under 25 and the lady on the phone at the DVLA was horrible to me, really patronising and aggressive. She made me cry and then suddenly put me on hold for 10 mins while I sobbed away.

So...DH gets angry with me and asks stupid questions that I dont know the answer too and gets all uppity when I dont know the answer.

I go out to cool down and come back with a peace offering of minstrels and choc raisins, but he turns them down and gets grumpy, then when I pick up DD and walk off he shouts after me not to get upset - it was only a joke.

Not funny and mean.

So, AIBU to expect some sympathy and niceness rather than horriblness when I have had a crappy day?

P.S Sorry for the long rant...

sorry you're having such a crappy day!

I don't have much in the way of advice but I'm sending you a [hug]

naturalbornmum · 29/12/2008 17:38

He sounds like a grumpy arse. Sorry you are having a bad day - the only way is up.

LucyTownsend · 29/12/2008 17:39

You made me smile properly for the first time today!

YAY

He sounds as frustrated and annoyed by the whole thing too. Perhaps his last minute call to you was his (rubbish) way of trying to say sorry for being an arse and to let you know that it is not all bad?
Sometimes when Dh and I are both having a really bad time, co-ordinating the "give and take" parts can be a PITA. I know you have had a crappy day, perhaps a deep breath and hold back for a bit to see if he can get his act together and patch things up might be worth a shot?

If he is still acting an arse... extra minstrels for you

AbbaFan · 29/12/2008 17:47

It wouldn't have killed him to help you a bit.

I hope you get it sorted and YA defo NBU
