To feel annoyed at being called a troll!

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 29/12/2008 11:08

Playing iSketch yesterday someone came on from MN but not with their MN name a basically called me a troll, even suggested i was CVQ.

All because of the things going on in my life ATM! and because i was upset yesterday and had gone on to iSketch and tbh had pretty much forgotten about XP, she obv thought i should have been moping aroound still.

I am not a troll, i am a very real person with a very real life, even if it is a bit up in the air atm.

And tbh, i have had stuff happen to me which i wouldn't dream of putting on here, mostly because it is all very unlucky and i would rathe forget about it, but if i had wanted to i would have definately been called a troll.

So AIBU in thinking that if someone wants to accuse me of being a troll they should not do it annonomously with snide coments like 'you have certainly cheered up now', 'goodnight CVQ' and saying something about to look out for people who basically have lots of stuff going on in their lives(can't remember exactly what she said?).

This has made me feel really sad because MN is my only outlet really, i have no adult company at home and i have come to quite rely on you guys for support, i don't want to feel hounded out.

If anyone has doubts about me can you please get it out of your system now, i would rather talk about this now than it come out in snide comments later on...

This obsession with 'troll spotting' is ridiculous.

There are no prizes you know.

So unless you suspect something seriously malicious, inwhich case report to MNHQ, keep it to yourself.

It's pathetic, so no you're not being unreasonable.

naturalbornmum · 29/12/2008 12:29

YANBU. Ignore and move on.

bellavita · 29/12/2008 12:35

What's isketch?

BlueSapphire77 · 29/12/2008 12:50

Well i don't know who cvq is, have heard of flaming but never of trolls till i came on here..
Someone (can't be arsed to look lol ) posted that a lot of people felt silly for investing a lot of time in this cvq person .. i certainly wouldn't, i would see it as i tried to help someone who turned out to be a 'troll' as you call them, but whatever people posted to her may have been good advice that other people too afraid to post on here may have read and it may have helped them.
Its a shame people may now hold back on helping someone else
However, from what i have seen on here so far people here are so willing to help, the odd tosser who makes it all up should just be ignored and left with their own sad little life.

People pay a fortune for a counsellor to tell them some of the advice given freely on here!! Lol

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 29/12/2008 12:53

iSketch (online pictionary)

I have just made a MN room of you are interested?

bellavita · 29/12/2008 12:56

phew - e-mail just sent to you melly, sorry it is long and garbled!

cocolepew · 29/12/2008 12:58

I have the attention span of a gnat so I don't think I'd like it.

YANBU btw

PavlovtheRedNosedReindeer · 29/12/2008 12:59

omg. Was CVQ not real? I am so out of touch. I only remember one person on here who did that, some-one called Hills? I thought CVQ was real .

mellyonion · 29/12/2008 13:09

thanks bella...clear as mud!

i too was sucked in by cvq.....

SuperSillyus · 29/12/2008 13:15

I didn't realise that about cvq either though surely anyone who put so much effort into getting loads of support must have needed it on some level even if not for the reasons stated?

I thought I was on here loads but I miss alot! I mean moldies?

I read the link to the article and found it funny. And I'd like to echo that some of the quotes did not match the names at all but if I was misquoted like that I would be very miffed!

matildax · 29/12/2008 13:19

hello, i am sorry for you m2oj.
its awful being called a troll on here. it has happened to me, and even though i do look pretty rough first thing in the morning, i am certainly no troll.

all i say, or ask advice about on here is true.

i am really shocked about cvq.
i read her thread when her baby was poorly, and the support she got of other mums on here was amazing. i did, if i am honest, think it was strange that she was posting on here, when her son was so ill. but the support and genuine caring by people on here was lovely.
how did anyone find out she was not what she said she was???

bellavita · 29/12/2008 13:19

We live and learn eh! , although that is not to say I won't be sucked in again

BouncingTinsel · 29/12/2008 13:22

Yeah I only found out the other day CVQ was a troll
And EthanChristopher! She turned out to be a troll and I defended her!
BUT I'd much rather take people at face value and risk being made a fool than risk seriously alienating someone who genuinely needed help.

Sorry someone was so mean to you MC2OJ - wasn't me as I have been unable to get on Isketch - my bloody computer keeps crashing every time I try and download the Shockwave updates!

BTW - do you use IE to play it, as I usually use Firefox for my internet browsing, I'm just wondering it if it is Firefox that isn't compatible... (sorry for going off topic!)

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 29/12/2008 13:26

yes IE, i was thinking about transfering to firefox because i use online banking but not if its not compatible with iSketch

OP posts:
BouncingTinsel · 29/12/2008 13:39

Well some of my online banking doesn't work in Firefox either! Which is a pain as Firefox is sooooo much better!

wenceslasmyeducation · 29/12/2008 14:00

I hate troll-hunting. I was trying to search for threads about my new highchair, and there are hundreds of messages with 'tripp trapp' on.

M2OJ, sorry for the way you've been treated. Plenty of people have shit piling up in their lives and these troll-hunters should think themselves lucky that it seems so unusual to them.

starbear · 29/12/2008 14:02

I can't understand the troll outing stuff. I take posts on face value but, know that I can't get to involved as I don't know the real circumstances and might be making matters worse for someone. I was upset once about a thread and didn't post for 4-5 months fab I got on with stuff I really need to do. Back on now and addicted again.
MotherChristmas2OliverJames don't take it to heart and hope you read the postive stuff and dump the rubbish

Doodle2U · 29/12/2008 14:05

Ahh - I played Isketch with you the other night and I thought you were fab!

Ignore troll accusations - they abound because of so many trolls spoiling MN - makes everyone bloody paranoid!

honeybehappy · 29/12/2008 14:06

was it really after 2, i had no idea i was up that late or did someone else have a go at you aswell .

I love isketch!!!

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 29/12/2008 14:28

That is just a guess honey b, i didnt go to bed until 3 so was going on that.
