My dad bought my DD 2 years a bike for christmas. It was almost complete, all my dad had to do was attach the front wheel. I could see as soon as she opened it on christmas morning that the bike was totally out of shape. Poor little girl was so pleased and desperate to go out on it. Broke my heart to tell her no. The back wheel was buckled! When I phoned my dad later he said "was the bike ok? I thought it looked a bit mis shapen. What do you think?" How can you give a present to a child when you know its not safe? WHen I asked him to exchange it he got the huff and brought the receipt round and told me to sort it out myself. I AM greatful, I do want the bike, just one that works! Now he is snotty with me and I have to face the masses at Toys R us in the morning.

Wait a few days and ignore the childish behaviour he is showing.

Just noticed that the receipt is over a month old. Will they still exchange it? I dont have the original packaging. But its obviously never been used.

shops normally extend their refunds policies for xmas

blametheparents · 27/12/2008 15:39

Also, if it is faulty surely they have to change it?

moonincancer · 27/12/2008 15:39

you can insist they replace it, its not fit fot the purpose...the law says

Oh good. Just dont think my dad should have wrapped it up in the first place. Its obviously crap.
