mainly i want to do it as he's been an arse all day and ruined our xmas. so i'm expecting to get slated

but it's not first time.

it's dangerous and he could kill someone.

and he'll be drinking more where he goes so goodness knows what state he gets in??

so? should i hunt down his reg plate? or can i do it without it? do i need to know exactly where he's going?

or should i just not do it.

he owns his own business. he requires his lisence to drive between the premises. but he could get by without it for a year.

also, he has a gambling addiction and this would really curb that for a period as he's in a danger of losing the house and businesses at moment this would perhaps be a could thing as he wouldn't be able to get there?

As long as you can cope wiht at least a year ban...

crispyduck · 26/12/2008 10:54

I would seriously threaten him first....then if he ignores that phone the police and report it

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/12/2008 11:44

what did you do?

he is your dh you do have a duty to report it, how would you feel if he had a crash and killed someone?

i will have one drink if driving but to go out and drive after drinking lots is being unresponsible and you are just as bad allowing and knowing he is doing it

ummadam · 26/12/2008 12:39

I would report someone I loved in an instant - how they would feel about getting into trouble would be nothing compared to how they would feel if they killed someone.

My dad was killed by a drunk driver

ELMOchristmascountdown · 26/12/2008 16:54

i called station in area he was in. didn't withold my details. but since i never knew registration or details of where he was going i feel like i was palmed off.

they said "did i realise this was one of there busiest time of year"

they said if he does it again make sure i know registration and find out details of where he'll be and they will act on it. they say if they get a chance they shall send details on to police in his area of work for a word sometime over next few days.

so not completely brushed under carpet.

Well done, it can't have been easy.

sorry about your dad ilovelovemydog

Nighbynight · 26/12/2008 18:18

hope you manage to get it together next time.

would be awful for everyone involved, if he killed someone.

NAB3hundredChristmaslights · 26/12/2008 18:20

Sounds like you want to report him to get back at him for something, rather than because it is the right thing to do.

NAB3hundredChristmaslights · 26/12/2008 18:22

Because he is your LO dad should be a reason to do it. You might just save him from killing himself.

Nighbynight · 26/12/2008 18:23

nab, do you think she might possibly have a vested interest in protecting her children from being the children of someone who had caused an accident by drink driving?

apart from it being the right thing to do.

Nighbynight · 26/12/2008 18:24

x post.

I think usually people dont put all their reasons for doing somethig in their first post.

wickedwitch81 · 26/12/2008 20:08
